My advice has always been fall in love with a design, put it in a drawer somewhere, don't even LOOK at it for a year or 6 months or whatever then take it out and see if you're still in love.

@Rainjar: Yeah, I see what you're saying about "too much meaning" but if it doesn't have ANY meaning for you then there isn't really a point. I think most people have meaning behind the tattoos they have. Though I agree with you, the whole schpheal of "WELL MAN, THE SYMBOL REPRESENTS, LIKE, THE EARTH" is annoying, but most people do have personal reasons for that tattoo and if that is their reason and it makes them happy it doesn't really matter what you think.

My tattoos are very meaningful. I don't feel the need to explain them or make a point that I have them. I probably fall into Rainjar's category but that is quite all right. My shit so far is very spiritual and I dig it. Plus, I just like tattoos all around. They're fun to get and fun to have. I'm just glad I'm smart enough not to let my humor get in the way or I would have some crazy shit like ponies, Hello Kitty, and Kurt Russel. Although Foxhound is damn close to Kurt Russel.

We all need to meet up at E3 and get tattoos. Or, rather, get Greenie and Kay drunk and watch them get tattoos. THAT sounds too fun.

ANYWAY, random work rant - I teach at a city office on thursdays and after getting a semi...weird...rambling last week about how I was/wasn't doing a good job (seriously, I don't know, it was very strange) I sent an e-mail yesterday asking them to send me an evaluation sheet I need to evaluate students today. I get a semi-bitchy reply saying to not ask this guy for lesson related stuff (even though he told me to do that last week) and that i should just get it when I arrive. So throwing actual preparation and forethought out the window I shall follow his advice and play video games today until I need to go to work. If that's how they want to play it...it's funny how much of a dick I become when working for a faceless corporate entity. It corrupts you almost.

Sounds like the people you work for don't understand how to delegate. It's very surprising how many bosses are like that. It's like they have that position because they stuck around long enough and nobody knew what else to do with them. Like, "why isn't this person moving on to greener pastures? Fuck it, promote them!"

I dunno though, I'm probably terrible to work with. I give specific directions with insane deadlines and leave it be knowing I can cover my own ass if the person fails. Freelance sure does beat bullshit corporate politics though.

The wife's tattoo took longer than expected so I didn't get one. I was kind of disappointed since being there does amp the want for one. Her tattoo turned out excellent. The artist got into it and started to feel the design so he decided to add more detail. We started trading movie and music trivia to which he warmed up and actually gave a shit about what he was doing. Can't blame him though since I'm the same way.

For some fucking reason my wife wanted Olive Garden for her birthday dinner. Olive Garden. It did confirm my suspicions though; Anybody that wears a fedora and talks politics is an asshole. And he asked to see the chef to ask about wheat pasta. Even though he wasn't allergic. At Olive Garden. And the dude was, like, 60. With a fedora. At Olive Garden. It wasn't any of my business but our table was really close to his. I only let it slide because it was my wife's birthday and it's the only day I refuse to be a dick or embarrass her. At Olive Garden.

@Krubix Hey man! All is good here. Next term will be my last term and April is when I will find out whether I'll be leaving for the JET program come July. So much coming up! If I do get accepted into the program, I'll also need to come up with a plan for what I need to do with all of my stuff. Not just that, but I'm also contemplating between buying a house or starting a business within the next couple of years. Decisions, decisions... :p

I can honestly say that saying honestly actually works with some phrases occasionally if not never.

I think whether or not going to work during an ice storm should be determined by how willing your dogs are to go outside. Mine are pretty much telling me, "fuck that." Anyone else affected by this bullshit weather? Me and the wife are pretty screwed. A few inches of snow on top of a days worth of sleet. One or the other isn't so bad, combined it is pretty shitty. We dropped 40 degrees in less than 12 hours. Crazy.

I've had shitty weather all winter. It is easily the worst winter I have ever encountered in my life. Lately I haven't had anything as bad as the freezing rain that knocked power out for a few days, but the snow and cold is just starting to get ridiculous now.

Where I live there is an Italian restaurant that has the Olive Garden vibe called Italia Garden. It's delicious.

Lenny, go check out the Vita thread AND the 3DS thread and make your decision from there. I recommend both. Unless I, again, have to discuss which is better. In that case I recommend a Galaxy Note 3 and a $50 Amazon gift card

Spiddy, he asked a question and I just gave my honest opinion. Now, I may not be seeing something you do in the Vita, but like I said before, I play my 3DS because I want to play a game that's only on it. I play a game on a Vita because I have to review it or I want to play something on a Vita. Now, I get that tech does matter, but if someone's asking which system to pick up, I generally take that as which one has the better game library otherwise they'd just go with the tech they like more.

@Lenny: Get a Vita and PS+ since you already have a PS3 and, at some point, plan on getting a PS4. Or wait until E3 and see if Nintendo decides to implement something similar to PS+ because as it stands now, the value of Nintendo is just not there.

Then again, my philosophy stands strong on these things: Every time you want Mcdonald's, take that $5 and put it in a jar. Not only will your body thank you, but in a few months you'll have enough cash to buy both. Good luck trying to find time to make a dent in either's library though

I'm with pspiddy, if you have PS+ and a bigger memory card you'll have a good collection of games in 2-3 months. Right now you can download Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Wipeout, Street Figther vs. Tekken, Smart As, Modnation Racers, and later this month Unit 13 and Monster Hunter from the PSP. That's enough to keep anyone busy for a while, and every game I've played has been great from that list (haven't played the last 2 yet) plus the games I've bought.

You could literally spend $300 and not have to buy any games (unless there is one that you want that isn't free) for the thing because you'll get so many different free ones. Lately they've been releasing 2 Vita games and 1 PSP game a month. That's just great value.

I don't have a 3DS, but if I were to get one I'd definitely get a 3DS over the 2DS. Not that I want 3D, but that 2DS looks ugly and bulky. Would I like to play Mario, Zelda, Bravely Default, and Dragon Quest VII? Yup. With all of the free games that I get from Vita I don't really need/want/have time for another handheld. Plus I can play Final Fantasy VII on the go, and NOTHING will EVER beat that.

I did my research and sided on a 3DS pretty quickly. I'm with Bret in that the 2DS didn't appeal to me not because of 3D but I didn't like the shape/form factor at all.

I don't have PS+ (there's something that bugs me about "well, you have this game as long as you keep your subscription up) so the Vita, purely for first party content didn't seem amazing for me. The only game I'd REALLY want on the Vita is the remake of Persona 4, but it's a remake.

So that's how I weigh in...but you know, whatever floats your boat.
