On topic: Is anyone interested in Splinter Cell Blacklist? I was ignoring it before, but I'm sort of interested now that I know it has Spies vs Mercs and a single player mode closer to the original games. It'd be cool to play some MP in that one if I pick it up

I'm mildly interested in Blacklist. I assume I'll get more wound up for it as the release gets closer. If they can return to the glory days of Spys VS. Mercs, my head will explode with delight.

I spend hundreds of hours stalking through the Mall and Theater maps, snapping necks and killin' spies.

MGS5 eh? Not sure how to feel. That series has been all over the place, so want to hope it's the pure awesomeness 3 was but then I wonder if it will have boss fights against fat guys on roller skates or segments where you're forced to tail someone.

I feel like MGS4 pretty much wrapped everything up for me.

Totally agree with that as well. I wont argue the GAMEPLAY in terms of the good chapters in MGS4...that shit was solid and well thought out but for how well thought out it was I wish there was more of it.

Also, instant way to improve the MGS series...no tranquilizer gun. Not that i ever use it but...just...no.

I love the tranquilizer gun so I'd be sad if they took it away.

Just make the tranquilizer so it's not so overpowered and ammo is harder to come by. It made stealth way too easy in 4.

It's a weird thing the tranq gun because...yeah, it's in the game andtherefore a perfectly valid means of playing it but it just breaks the game. You tranq everyone...when someone goes to investigate the tranq guy you tranq him it's just silly.

MGS5, BF4, Beyond, Killzone, Destiny, GTA 5... the list is growing and growing. Bring on the next gen systems! The gaming depression is finally over!!

So excited for all of those games. MGS5 will be epic regardless. MGS has always defined a console generation and this will be no exception. Look at when we did our favourite games voting a year ago. MGS showed up for every era. I'm sure there will be bad parts to it but you know this is a game we will be talking about for years and years to come.

Neph is right. My second favorite PS1 game is Metal Gear Solid. Metal Gear Solid 3 is in my Top 5 favorite PS2 games. Metal Gear Solid 4 is my favorite PS3 game. Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is my favorite PSP game. Ol' Hideo Kojima delivers the goods.

Guess I am going to be an early adopter next gen fucking dammit. Next gen Suda51 game It's got art by Yusuke Kozaki and a female protagonist and DAT ASS. Guess I'll be jumping on the next gen hype train now. The one thing that would 100% sell me on next gen just happened so yeah I'm getting a PS4 unless by some off chance its on Wii U too.

The only thing that bugs me...and YES this is just me being old person...but the fact that Kojima's show of the FOX Engine at GDC was obsessed with realism. "LOOK...IT'S SO REAL!". Which...I don't know, it is very real but now we're getting to the point where does realism = better? It's very impressive tech to be sure but I don't know. Something about it bugged me.
