Pokemon X and Y Discussion

So they just edited it today saying that Chespin's final will be Grass/Dark and Froakie's Water/Fighting. Still no word whether this is true, but this place's reliability mixed with that they're editing it makes it more believable.

As long as it's not another fire/fighting starter then I don't mind.

More Pokemon X&Y Rumors from Pokebeach so take them with a grain of salt:

Pancham evolves into Pangoro in the early level 30s. In order to evolve Pancham into Pangoro, you need to have one other Dark-type Pokemon in you Party. Pangoro's type is Fighting/Dark.

A Pokemon named Inkay evolves into Malimar. To evolve it, you need to hold your 3DS upside-down when it levels up (the 3DS has an accelerometer and gyroscope so it can detect that). Malimar is Dark/Psychic.

A Psychic-type Pokemon named Espurr (ESP+purr) evolves into Meowstick (Meow+mystic?). (Sounds like Psychic-type cats. Meowstick's name sounds too similar to Meowth to me though.)

Like in B/W you have two rivals - one is friendly and the other is competitive. Your rival that is more friendly gives you his/her fully evolved starter Pokemon after you beat the game.

Another professor named Sycamore gives you either a Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle.

Even though it shows the player riding on a Gogoat in the new trailer, players can't ride on their own Pokemon. What was shown is just an alternate way of getting around Lumiose City and it only works with Gogoat.

HMs still exist but there's a lot less of them.

Players will be able to see their Pokemon's EV's (probably through the same in-game facility mentioned in the other post).

A new move, Belch, is a Poison-type attack that has a base power of 120. The user must consume a held berry to perform it.

Draining Kiss is a Fairy-type attack that heals the user for the same amount of damage performed. It has a base power of 60.

If the previously revealed forme of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly similar to Mewtwo's original design, the second supposed form of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly/vaguely similar to Mew's design.

In case you missed our correction the other day, the Starters' final evolutions are Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, and Water Fighting.

So there's going to be Mega Evolutions now. These will happen during battle and end once the battle's over through use of a special item. So far Mewtwo, Blaziken, Lucario, Ampharos (who actually becomes Electric/Dragon), Mawile, Absol, and Kangaskhan all have them. Their type, stats, and abilities could all be subject to change, though the first is less common than the other two. Mega Kangaskhan by far has the best design

OMG baby Kangaskhan comes out to fight! That is genius and the best I've seen so far since the other designs I saw looked pretty ridiculous. Doesn't Ampharos just grow some hair? Bleh.

I like Ampharos' mega design actually. It's goofy, but that's why I like it. Blaziken and Lucario were a bit much at first, but they're growing on me. Absol's my second favorite after Kangaskhan. Mewtwo and Mawile I'm not a fan of though. Here's the rest of them.

Yeah, goofy is the best way to describe it. I think my issue is I love Ampharos and think it's adorable the way it is. Absol is actually pretty cool and I think I can get used to Lucario. Poor Mewtwo though, what have they done to him

I'm really curious to see how Mega Evolutions will work in the gameplay now. Hopefully it doesn't feel like an unfair advantage or something.

Mega Mewtwo looks like the retarded offspring of Freiza and Kid Buu.

Greenman, can you tell me what's going to be different between X and Y? With Black and White it was Black City that got me to decide on Black, but I haven't seen anything like that yet to help me choose between X or Y... It's a tough decision :0

They've been tight lipped on version differences so far. All we have so far is three Pokemon exclusive to X (A blue lobster, a Fairy type, and Xerneas) and Y (a Poison/Water seahorse, a Fairy type, and whatever that legendary bird is called).

Ah I see. I was hoping there was more information that maybe I had missed. I guess I'll remain undecided then :/

There's an issue of Corocoro coming sometime this week. I'm sure they'll have info since it's their last until the game's all but released. Know they'll have Fairy's type chart. All we know now is it's super effective against Dragon and not very effective against Fire.

I really love the roster too. Think my team will end up being Chesnaught/Blastoise/Pyroar/Pangoro/Sylveon/Tyrantrum.
