Forgot to mention this before, but I have 2 keys for Risk of Rain on PC from humblebundle. I think it's a rogue-like. Whoever wants them can have them

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is $30 at Brandsmart, which is just in Georgia and Florida, but Best Buy honors matching their deal everywhere apparently.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
how much is that worth in trade in value at gamestop? its too early for them to put it on their site's list apparently. i would guess it's at least 35-40 on xbone/ps4.
How long is this sale on for? Best Buy is right across the street from the walmart i'll be working at.

$40 trade in credit I'm sure and probably have a week for it. Here's a link to the ad, since you'll need to show them it. http://akimages.shoplocal.com/dyn_rppi/820.0.90.0/BrandsMart/large/141109_pg01_z31g1.jpg

I've been thinking about renting Advanced Warfare... not sure why. More like why not I guess. Never actually played through a CoD before.
Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
If it weren't for the assholes that inhabit those game's servers, those games are actually pretty well designed. The single player's nothing to brag about, but I remember having TONS of fun with the multiplayer of the first Modern Warfare.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
The first Modern Warfare was awesome. The perks were well balanced, and it was a battle of skill, not perks/kill streaks. Me and my friends still get on and play private matches on there, and it is by far the best of all Call of Duty games. I have two friends really bugging me to get the new one. Might do it because I can't get their dumb brains to play Killzone with me.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
I've found that I can enjoy Call of Duty MP when played in bursts. If I try to play it on a regular basis it starts to drive me nuts. Single player has always been good enough for a rent from the one's I've played.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
Volvo, how do you know Best Buy matches that brandsmart ad everywhere? I went to Best Buy's ad match page and it says it has to be a local retail store, and they'd match online price but the price isn't available online. My first sentence makes me sound dickish, but I'm not being dickish, just really want to know.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
I'd be willing to drive to my store if I knew for sure it would work, but reading their policy online makes me think it wouldn't. I have two friends begging me to get it. They want me to have it so bad they should buy it for me.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
It probably depends on the staff/manager of the store. They clearly don't have to honor it, but they also clearly are in some cases. Seems like a YMMV sort of thing.
Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
At Wal-Mart we are having some pre-Black Friday deals. There's some PS4 games to get for cheap...
Madden 15, NBA 2K15, FIFA 15 (I'll gladly play you), and The Evil Within are all $30. Avengers on Blu-Ray for $10. There were some 40" TV's for $115 but I'm betting most stores are out of them. PS4 with a free $50 shopping card. iPad Air with a free $100 shopping card, and I believe the same for the newest mini.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
Speaking of WalMart pre-Black Friday deals, in the blu-ray/movie department, the Supercenter I stopped at Thursday had a decent selection of steelbook titles for $7.88. I picked up Inception, Gladiator and The Dark Knight.
Others included: Batman Begins, 300, Watchmen: Dir's Cut, Sherlock Holmes, Heat, The Hangover 1 & 2.
I found it at the front of the electronics department.

Alien Isolation is 50% off on the humble store for today only. There's also supposedly a steam sale coming up later this week. I dunno if steam will beat that price but I jumped anyway because I wanted to make sure I olayed it before the end of the year.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
Sweet! I got mine on launch. I wonder if it'll be $50 in cash or just PS Store credit. I'd be happy with either!

Sigh, I love my Vita but it's dead and gone. I'd say 75% of my gaming time is on it.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
Uplay has a deal so good it's getting me to use Uplay. Buy one game from a selection and get another game from a different selection free. The sweet part is that Lara Croft and Osiris (a game I already was going to get) is a buy game while $40 and $60 games are free ones including South Park, Black Flag, Rayman Legends, and Watchdogs and it works with you buying only the cheaper game. PC only (just in case you hadn't heard of Uplay before. Basically Ubi's form of Origin, but worse in every way and no exclusives).

Bleh. I hate proprietary online DRM platforms, and Uplay is especially bad. When the best way to play your company's games is to get them from The Pirate Bay, you're doing it wrong.

Child of Light is at a price on Steam that it would be a jump point if you're into that genre...just sayin'.
