Bayonetta - The Official Thread of the Gates to Hell
I thought that since so many of us were playing Bayo 2 the series might warrant a thread.
All things Bayonetta...

Re: Bayonetta - The Official Thread of the Gates to Hell
Finally got the chance to start up Bayonetta 2. Seems really good so far. Still getting a handle on the combat again.
Re: Bayonetta - The Official Thread of the Gates to Hell
2 is a lot more "accessible" than 1 you should get the hang of combat pretty fast.
Actually i really like what they did with 2's difficulty its objectively easier (unless you start directly on 3rd Climax thats more on par with 1's), but nothing is dumbed down or simplified.
This is what should have been done with DmC. I mean i like that game, but it's no DMC or Bayonetta. I feel pretty good when i get 9.9x multipliers in Bayo 1/2 SSS in DmC is like eh

Bayonetta 2 did seem a bit easier than 1 to me, although it's still pretty balls-to-the-wall. I'm playing on 2nd Climax now and will probably knock it up a notch on my next playthrough.
That's fine, though, because it's still an improvement in every way. This game is sick.

Re: Bayonetta - The Official Thread of the Gates to Hell
It's definitely easier, but I'm enjoying it more than the first. I am not sure why exactly. No shitty sections like the vehicles bits of 1 so far which helps, but overall it just seems more enjoyable.
The cutscenes really get in the way of my fun. I never skip cutscenes on my first playthrough of any game, so these really kill the pace sometimes. Plus they are generally terrible. Also not particularly important but that kid Loki has a truly awful character design.

Some of the cut-scenes are funny, though most of the funnier ones are the ones with Enzo, the guy who sounds like Joe Pesci. Cut-scenes definitely aren't Bayonetta 2's strong point. But the action is fantastic.

Re: Bayonetta - The Official Thread of the Gates to Hell
I just finished Chapter 11. Finally been trying out some of the other weapons a bit more. Game is a blast.
Re: Bayonetta - The Official Thread of the Gates to Hell
Best weapon combo for getting Pure Platinums in the main game seems to be the Salamandra (chainsaws) for arms and the Alrauna (whips) for legs. In the online mode, I prefer the giant scythe plus the Alrauna for winning.
BTW, if anyone's playing when I'm online, look me up. Wouldn't mind doing online with you guys.

Re: Bayonetta - The Official Thread of the Gates to Hell
I beat it last night. Awesome game. I ended up settling on one loadout being just the standard guns and the other being the scythe and whips like San mentioned. I love the scythe.
Also I was pretty hard on the vehicle and turret stuff in the first game, but that wasn't much of a problem here. The mech was cool. The horse was short. I didn't care much for the jet fighter, but eh.
I want to try the trials and co-op sometime this weekend.
