I've been playing around with Game Maker Studio (free version). The tutorial is pretty comprehensive and anyone who is used to Flash will grasp the concept pretty quickly. It's to actionscript what Dreamweaver is to HTML.
It's free and if you like it you can upgrade. Knowing you guys, you all are probably pros and I'm slow on the uptake. Fuck this forum and all of you intelligent assclowns.
Even if I - or more correctly, my wife - didn't own a 3DS, I'd have probably still picked this one up because I know it's going to be a little rare, especially with a good CE in such easy reach.
You're ahead of me on Game Maker Studio, at least.
I mess with RPG Maker VX Ace on and off myself. I have a few RPG ideas kicking around in my head. However, for right now I'm too

pspiddy wrote:Wow. I had no clue they were still making RPG Maker. I own the PSone and PS2 editions. I'll investigate this PC iteration. Oh, and I found a download of Crispin's Quest for PC a few years back. It's probably still floating around on the web. If not, I can email you a copy. Good looking out on RPG Maker.
RPG Maker is alive and well on PC, several versions of it are available. Right now, the PC versions all seem to be 2-D sprite-based games. I'd like to see them try a version that allows 3-D modelling. I'd love to make my inner Final Fantasy VII... or Shadow Madness, LOL. But still, it is an impressive package that lets you do whatever you're capable of doing with it.

I'm actually kind of disappointed by the GOG sale. They've been repeating the same deals for a few days now. Their downloader keeps messing up on me, too, but that's a different story

But their downloader lets me easily pause downloads and resume them later. All my browsers just cancel everything if I even close the browser and my internet's too slow to download everything in one sitting

Not sure if you guys would know this, but if i bought something like Planescape or Baldur's gate woudl it automatically work with no CD stuff or would you have to fanagle it a bit to get it working?

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
Do you mean if you buy it from GOG? I think it would just work, but I haven't tried installing anything that old yet. I'll get on posting some of the deals, spiddy
Snapshot, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, Capsized, and Pid - $11.21
Myst collection - $9.45
Unfortunately you only get the 75% off if you buy the whole pack, otherwise they're 50% off. I actually got to playtest Capsized. It's a fun little sidescrolling shooter. I had some issues getting stuck behind things but a lot of things were fixed for the final product

I don't think you need to "finagle" anything, GOG does that for you. I don't own Planescape or BG, but I do own Fallout 1 and 2, and they worked fine as soon as they were installed by GOG's installer without me doing anything to them.

Might pick up Planescape Torment then. Since I pirated it ages ago but it required much finagling. That said, I wonder if I have to install all the mods and stuff...

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
Decided to buy planescape torment, hopefully I don't need to jigger around with the mods and stuff to make it look halfway presentable. But I figured the only thing that was stopping me from buying planescape was that it wasn't available in a format that I could easily install but if it is...hey, I'm all about supporting good stores which GoG seems to be. Also win and win for giving me the manual and soundtrack.

Yeah, I booted up the game, unfortunately old saves don't work but the game looks and works great (for such an old game) so I'll just start from the beginning.

New gog deals today:
Wadjet Eye bundle: Resonance, Primordia, Blackwell Bundle, and Gemini Rue - 80% ($8.96 total)
Legacy of Kain bundle - 75% off ($5.96 total)
One thing I just discovered: if you already own some of the games in the bundle, you still get the full discount if you only buy the remaining games. For example, I already own Primordia and Gemini Rue, so I can complete that bundle for about 5 bucks. Gog is great

Anyone here played Planescape? It blows my mind...literally every NPC has a unique and well-written description. It's nuts.

I bought it, but I haven't played it. Heard the story was incredible, though. Today's deals are some pretty big bundles

Turn based strategy game bundle: Alpha Centauri, Master of Magic, Master of Orion 1-2, Colonization, Fragile Allegiance, Galactic Civilizations, and Space Empires IV. 75% off ($12.43)

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
Mortal Kombat for 5 dollars? Might jump on that.
And I'm just going to pre-empt any recommendations for SotC with I can't. I mean I'm sure it's a great game but when I first played it on PS2 it gave me the worst motion sickness i ever had. I remember the game as a bunch of white lights, then vomiting and sleeping for the rest of the day. Maybe they fixed it maybe they didn't, but I'm deathly afraid of even touching that game.

Re: The Heads Up Thread(deals and such)
Pretty glad to see BF3 and Oddworld as PS+ freebies. Deals for today are:
Introversion Originals Bundle: Darwinia, Multiwinia, Defcon, Uplink - $7.16
FTL: Faster Than Light - $2.49
Defender's Quest - $3.74
Zafehouse Diaries - $2.49
King of Dragon Pass - $1.49
I jumped on FTL even though I'll probably never get around to it. There's been too many recommendations from Spiddy and friends to pass that one up

pspiddy wrote:Which MK, kay? I planned on picking up the vita one again, but if you go ps3 I may do that for some mp. Also, SotC isn't much better besides the framerate. Smoother, but still shiny and blurry and janky.
i dont know actually. Does the Vita one have more content?
