About a month away from E3, figured we needed a pre-E3 thread. Any predictions you might have. Anything you just hope to see. Any rumors that pop up we can discuss them in here.

So they will be showing the new 3D Mario around that time any idea what it might look or play like? Like the setting or what new twist they might add... stuff like that?

I'm not really sure what a 3D Mario could be like. Galaxy's distorted gravity was kind of the next step to take the series and I'm not really sure what kind of twist they could give it other than that. It could just be Galaxy 3, but I want them to do something different. Though I wouldn't mind G3 if they did something like Sunshine's FLUDD pack with Galaxy's twisted gravity. Not that specifically, but just an example to throw a twist while still keeping what Galaxy offered because I thought that was a great evolution of the formula.

Yeah I'm kind of puzzled myself. I don't think they will do a Mario Galaxy 3 nor do I want them to, but I wonder if returning to a more traditional setting or level designs will just feel like a step back.

Regardless of the setting or whatever, I sure hope it is a straight up platformer like Galaxy as opposed to the adventure/platformer style of 64/Sunshine.

Microsoft will showcase more stupid non-gaming crap for Xbox 360 and Xbox Fusion, same as they have for five years running. I predict a Pinterest app for Kinect. Maybe Halo 5 for Fusion, if Xbox fans are lucky.

Nintendo and Sony will probably show a few games, but not likely anything we haven't seen before. Hopefully Sony won't announce that the PS4 is $599 (or more).

EA and Activision will show off their latest entries in the Battlefield/Call of Duty pissing contest.

Honestly, I don't pay attention to E3 anymore. As far as I'm concerned, E3 is an anachronism from a dead era and has been since the sixth generation ended. Companies tend to unveil their best stuff at their own events.

I predict loads of nonsense spewed from Michael Pachter's stupid face after each major press event. I wish there was some sort of voodoo that would cause him and Bobby Kotick to have explosive diarrhea anytime a camera or the press was nearby.

I'm cutting Reggie Fils-Aime a break on this one since his antics entertain me. Even the look on his face makes me go, "D'awwww, him's a special l'il guy"

Now that I think about it, I just watch it for pure comedy.

After last year I'd kind of be with you on the not caring about E3 anymore thing, but with the new consoles, I'm kind of excited. Prepared to have my hopes dashed though!

Feel free to include predictions for the companies pre-E3 shows as well.

My comment didn't post wtf, well here it is again. I always liked how Sunshine felt more like a Banjo-Kazooie game, but that is just me. I also heard that the 3D Mario game will be out this year, all I know that I will be playing it. Plus, not sure what they will do, but I know it will be be awesome. They will probably have more info on the ND games like the Yoshi games and ALttP 2.

I also heard that Mario Kart will be there and be out this year. Not sure how I feel about it, since Sonic set the bar high with ASRT. Ninty will have to do something interesting with it, but I'll still buy it either way. Also, Smash Bros will be there but there is no way it's coming out this year. I also want to know what Retro's new game is. Reggie did say we'll be seeing it in the near future, and he said that a long time ago so we'll be hearing about it anytime now. Also, Miyamoto and Reggie will have a pre-E3 showing like last year.

As for everyone else, Sony will show the PS4 hardware, the launch games,and the release date. And the price, which I guess will be around 300-500 bucks. Hopefully they announce stuff for the Vita. As for MS, not sure since their event thing is this this month.

This. I stopped paying attention myself if anything I care about is announced I'll hear about it later anyways. Most of the major companies are pushing shit i dont care about anyways.

This is true. I would have stopped watching ten minutes into each conference if it weren't for you guys. Conversations about Usher, throwing sand in people's faces, and typical Neph talk made it a lot of fun watching. And we even have our own chat function in the club (hint hint)

I thought we all agreed to do the chat thing here already? Or maybe it was mentioned and I assumed it was a go since, I mean, it IS a great option for stuff like E3. You guys hammer out the details and let everyone know about it and, as always, I'll participate regardless.

FYI- The chat function works on Android, Vita, and...shit...something else I tried it on. So participation should be easy. In theory.

Oh yeah we'll definitely do it here. Wasn't sure who had said they'd join in, but with some of these people saying they are going to ignore E3, I figured it was worth throwing out there again.

Mine would be:

Jak sequel - Doesn't seem impossible after the HD Collections and him showing up elsewhere.

Mirror's Edge 2 - Best platformer this gen needs a sequel. It seems to be being worked on. Just hope it hasn't been compromised. Next gen I'd think at this point.

New Prince of Persia - There seems to always be a PoP game being worked on, but I'd want this to be a PoP game and not some shit AC clone or something. That I would not want at all. This seems to be very unlikely to show up at all.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 - They said they were holding this back for next-gen. Not sure I believed that, but more likely that most on this list.

A New IP from a dev I like - Seems like it must happen. Maybe Ready at Dawn? Crystal Dynamics?

Also I still think Alan Wake 2 will show its face in the next month or so.
