3DS Mansion
Since there's a Vita thread, why not a general 3DS discussion thread?

Re: 3DS Mansion
Right, I'm pretty sure I'm going for a 3DS for my birthday next month. And as I'm poor I'll probably only get one game. What should it be and why?

Ehhhhh, I might get Pokemon eventually but I'm not feeling the pokemon bug at the moment. Anyone played Fire Emblem?

Fire Emblem's a good choice, but I'd say Zelda if you aren't up for Pokemon. Maybe ask around about Bravely Default too, that seems like your thing.

My votes would be Zelda, Fire Emblem, or the upcoming-in-two-days Bravely Default. Plenty of other great stuff though. What's your pleasure?
Fire Emblem is pretty badass, BTW.

Re: 3DS Mansion
Zelda has been my favorite game on it so far. Can't go wrong with that one Twolf.
You guys know me well. Which other games should I be tackling for this system. I have only played: Zelda, Super Mario 3D Land, NSMB2 and Animal Crossing. Other than Mario Kart which I plan to get, what else might I like?

Re: 3DS Mansion
How long did Zelda take you guys to beat (roughly)? Zelda is a game I know I will buy at some point I just figure my first one, if I'm stuck with it for a while should be a decently long affair.

Re: 3DS Mansion
I could see you liking Kid Icarus Trip since you're more open to something like touch screen aiming, just make sure if you get it the game comes with the stand, game's really uncomfortable without it. Castlevania's also something you'd like, pretty solid game. Just be prepared to cringe at Alucard with a whip. Pushmo also on the downloadable side.
@T-Wolf- I'd say about 20 hours maybe. Spent a lot searching and dicking around.

Re: 3DS Mansion
I might start with Zelda since I feel I have enough RPGs on my plate right now. And with the slow, laborious speed at which I play games lately 20 hours might take me some time...that and you guys all seem to love it and you guys have generally good taste in stuff.

XL. Don't even consider the smaller one.

Re: 3DS Mansion
I don't have one, but seeing as the XL is only $30 more it seems like someone would just be sad if they went the other route down the road. A lot of times you can find XL bundles too with games for free. There's a Zelda bundle for $219 and it looks cool.
I'm not a player of Pokemon (I know it would be a game I'd like), nor can I afford a 3DS (would love one and have the money to buy one, but I already have too many games on my PS3 and Vita that I have a hard time finding time to play) but when that Pikachu 3DS came out I almost bought one on looks alone. That thing was beautiful.
Any ways, like the others I'd vote XL.

Thanks guys, I'm almost relieved that everyone agreed in this case. I'll keep an eye on the deals around my birthday and see.

Re: 3DS Mansion
I would love to have an XL, but I can't really justify spending $150-200 on it just because its bigger. Just goes to show you... don't buy Nintendo handhelds until they release a more awesome version a year or two later.

Re: 3DS Mansion
The extra size is really worth it, and in price, it's not a huge jump between the regular 3DS and the XL.

Right, so I'm thinking 3DS with A Link to the Past and Fire Emblem. Good choices?

Hey Kubert if you get Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, DKC Returns, Yoshi's New Island, or Lego City and register them with that 3DS at Club Nintendo in March they'll give you Pokemon X or Y for free.

Re: 3DS Mansion
Hmmmm...that is a good tip. Unfortunately, I'm not buying them, I am getting them for the birthday so...hmmm.
Thanks for the heads up though, I'll see if I can still make it work for me.
