I have a PS4, don't have Xbone. The reason I was asking is that I'm probably going to bite on Destiny. Yes, you read that right, this board's resident RPG nut is looking at a FPS. I did play Halo 3 and Gears for quite awhile when I got my 360 in 2007. That being the case, I was wondering if the crew here was going to be playing it on PS4.

Yeah. Forgot that this would also be on the 7G consoles as well as the 8G consoles.

Well it's co-op, not competitive so we'll all be a team. I'll start a clan for us when the beta drops. It'll be the Play Station or TPS unless you guys can think of something better.

Depends on the FPS, but clans seem to be a really important part of Destiny.

Sunset Overdrive sounds pretty sweet. Definitely my kind of Insomniac game. I wish it wasn't just on the Xbone!

I hope MS lets Insomniac put SO on PC. Don't see myself getting an Xbone for a long time (probably eventually cause Halo), but I really want to play that game.

Would Microsoft be dead without Halo (I'm talking about their X-Box systems, not the entire company)? Never had one of their systems, but it seems like everything rides on this one game franchise.

Halo 1's the only reason the original Xbox never flopped, but nowadays, I'd say it's more of a moneymaker than the only thing keeping them alive.

Probably not, but on 360 it wasn't a life-or-death matter. Call of Duty was outselling Halo heavily, and it was primarily associated with the 360. The original Xbox wouldn't have lasted two years without Halo.

For the Xbox One, I'd say that Microsoft's success doesn't depend entirely upon it, but with the Xbone falling further and further behind Sony, Halo is a far more critical franchise for MS now than it was on the 360. Since people didn't bite on Kinect 2 or the ability to use the One as a cable box, Halo's really one of the few meaningful things Microsoft has that it can offer that the PS4 doesn't have.

I wonder if Destiny is going to steal Halo's thunder though. I mean, it is published by Activision and say what you want about this company, they are very good at turning a series into the next big thing. Halo's still going to be big, but I'm just wondering how big.

I'm just hoping we get Halo 2 Anniversary on 360. I'd bet my left nut that it'll be announced at E3, but just wondering if it'll be an Xbone exclusive. That's still my favorite in the series.

Wait isn't the Xbox One doing fine in its own right? What do you mean by they didn't bite for those things?

I think San is talking about how the Xbone isn't selling as well as the PS4. I mean, it's doing better than the Wii U but I don't think it's doing as well as MS hoped. I think they expected the whole idea of the all in one entertainment system to make this thing to be considered more than just a game console when the market just sees it as another game console.

Oh okay. I wasn't really looking at what MS expected.

Though I believe Xbone is doing better than the 360 during the same time after launch (I'll have to check this), but against two next-gen competitors this time and at the highest pricepoint. People are buying it for something despite the PS4 outselling it.

Based off of what I see I'm surprised it's doing as well as it is. I'd say the PS4 outsells it about 10 to 1 at my store, and I'd even say the PS3 has really started to sell more as well.

Most everyone I know is a 360 fanboy and indifferent about the Xbone. The only reason I can think of is that Xbone has a more of the same thing going on whereas Sony appeals to folks like this forum.

What Greenie stated about Destint will be interesting. And don't get me wrong, I LOVED the XBOX. I'm just a 360 hater.

I think when XBox One drops the kinect and the price the sales will jump considerably. I mean the software lineups of the two consoles aren't horribly different.

Even if Destiny does overshadow Halo, never underestimate peoples' ability to pretend Call of Duty is an Xbox exclusive. That's basically the whole reason anyone I know personally bought an Xbox 360. That and the fact that my brother thinks PS3 is shit because he had to download updates to play Killzone 2 online on a new system

I just wish Call of Duty would go away. Does anyone else feel the same?
