Anticipated Games

Puppeteer looks great. I was getting on here to mention this, but you've already done that. $40 is a great price. September will be a bitch for me like it is every year. The game I'm looking forward to the most though is Killzone, so if funds are low that will be the game I get September. What I want most though is a 20th anniversary reissue of Nirvana's In Utero. Favorite album ever, so hopefully they do that just like they did the first two albums.

I can't help but wonder how much cooler Puppeteer would look if LittleBigPlanet didn't exist already. I'll probably pick it up, though, assuming I have time for it.

It does seem like a different version of LittleBigPlanet. Thought that when it was announced and saw it.

So who else here is excited for Shin Megami Tensei IV? Anyone? ANYONE??

That definitely does look better than the first Fuse trailer. Looks like something actually interesting, though I still say Insomniac has way too much creativity to work on that.

I'm interested in it, but I'm going to see what I think of Strange Journey first. I saw a copy at my local store so I figured I'd grab it while I had the chance. From what I hear, it'll kick my ass

Fuse trailer looks nice. I saw snow suits so that had me interested.

I may get it but I have to beat Strange Journey first, and it's hard for me to get excited for another rpg when Pokemon X&Y come out this year.

Dammit, Pandora's Tower comes out the same day as Injustice and I only have enough money for one of them.

Honestly would anyone be excited for Pandora's Tower if it weren't a part of Operation Rainfall?

I am, Operation Rainfall or not. I didn't expect to get it at this point, so this is a nice bonus.

Fair enough. I just don't hear one thing said about the gameplay when people say they're excited, just Op Rainfall.

I'm genuinely interested in Pandora's Tower because it initially gave me a sort of Nier vibe. The combat could be bland but if the story lives up to its potential I'll be very happy. And it has dating sim elements. I love dating sim elements. I just don't know if I'm buying it on release day because I also planned on getting Soul Hackers :/

Also I'm glad there's at least a little interest in SMT IV here. It's funny to see Strange Journey mentioned twice. For some reason I never had a desire to play that one. I'm not sure why.

Batman Arkham Origin's Blackgate Hell yes, Metroid styled exploration, made by Armature Studios aka ex-Retro devs, now that's 2 Batman games I'm getting this year.

Also, why Capcom?!

Wait, the people making Blackgate are ex-Retro? OH FUCK YES!! So much more excited for that than the regular Arkham Origins.

I'm actually not excited for the regular Arkham Origins at all. Count me in for Blackgate, though

ex-Retro Studios and Metroid-styled exploration is what sold me on the 3DS version more. I'll still buy the console one but Blackgate is what I'm more excited for.

The Vita game has my attention. Thoughts on Rocksteady not making the main game?

I'll give it a shot for sure. After all, Rocksteady's games before AA were mediocre at best, so you never know if this could be the game that makes this new developer big too. I'm more worried that they'll keep taking it in a more cinematic route and keep the dumbed down AC combat where stunning then mashing punch was the way to go 90% of the time.

One silver lining is that Rocksteady is working on something totally new maybe? I mean not to say them making another Batman would be bad, but something different could be more interesting to me.

I'm definitely glad they're working on something new. I think if they wanted to keep making Batman games, they wouldn't have ended Arkham City the way they did and there wasn't much to continue on from where they left off. I'm not sure if they should stay the super hero guys, but I do think they should work on licensed games. They really got what makes Batman great and I'd love to see the same with making games out of other things.

It's nice to see a developer have the guts to step away from their biggest franchise. I wish more developers would do the same to be honest. Pass the torch and whatnot.

Surely Bungie held on to Halo for QUITE A WHILE before moving on though =p
