Yoshitaka Amano has a book coming out called 'The Art Of Final Fantasy'. Maybe. I've had it on pre-order from Amazon since last year so who knows when/if it'll come out. It's $50+ but if his previous published anthologies are a standard, it will be high quality print.

@San- I wasn't trying to come off as a pretentious prick about collecting. I'm an avid collector and proudly display my loot even though I often get mocked by my friends. I can understand why people do it for profit since it's such a niche hobby. Honestly, I had no clue how good the market was for games like Suikoden II until you pointed it out. For example: I disassembled my copy and put it in a binder with the rest of my PSone games. It's still complete, just without the original case. Same with all my black label stuff like FFVII and Fear Effect. Personally, I put the value of my modest collection on my enjoyment. Like how you got Uematsu to sign your sealed FFIX black label. THAT'S a story worth more than any ebay shit!

Metroid Prime Trilogy CE is probably the most rarest game I own, glad I was able to get it. But Xenoblade also fetches a pretty penny whether new or used.

@pspiddy: Video games certainly aren't worth it as an investment along the lines of commodities like gold or silver, but it is kind of cool when you have a rare jewel in your collection. I will NEVER sell my signed FFIX. That game has been sanctified by the hand of a master. I enjoy my game collection. Since I noticed last year that the State Fair of Oklahoma allows people to exhibit antique toys, I have considered entering my video game collection as an exhibit.

@Captain N: I kind of guessed that Xenoblade would become a hot item. It was the most hyped of the Operation Rainfall games and is generally considered the best of them, as it holds a 95% Metacritic aggregate. Nintendo only grudgingly printed the game for the US and only did a fairly limited run at that. I'm glad I got Xenoblade at pre-order. Metroid Prime Trilogy, however, kind of surprises me with how expensive it is.

EBgames now has the Muramasa Rebirth CE up for pre-order. It comes with a face cover, decal, lithograph and pouch. It's $60 but you can wait until 2 weeks before ship date to see if you can get any deals.

I don't usually recommend doing business with EBgames/Gamestop, but if you take advantage of trades and sales it's not a bad place to shop. I haven't given them money in years but I do a lot of trading so I don't feel as dirty.

Wal-Mart had Bulletstorm (PS3/360) for $10 and Alice In Wonderland (DS) for $10. These were on the shelves adjacent to the glass casings. This might be YMMV. Bret, can you confirm?

Different stores have different games. Games like Bulletstorm sometimes are just copies they had from when the game originally came out, and the reason it is $10 is because it has just dropped to clearance price. My store still has High Heat Baseball 2004 for PS2, for a whopping $49.96. I don't understand the way they do some things.

See if that Wal-Mart has 16 GB Vita cards on clearance for $45. Mine does, and that's a pretty good deal.

Heads up for anyone interested- Adobe is going to change their business model to subscription based. Great news for anyone who wants to contend with their Creative Suite series. Bad news for those of us who just like to put dildos and ponies over pics of Greenman.

For the record, I didn't mind the dildo. It was people like Trip who I knew wouldn't want to see that. The ponies, on the other hand, I took offense to.

You're good, doggy. I did overstep my bounds though. I got too comfortable with how lax most of us are. And forgot some people don't like the potty humor. Being stupid can be off-putting to people who might otherwise want to enjoy these forums. A time and a place, correct?

@Kay- did you just troll me? I googled what you recommended and came up with...well, less than dildos and more than the desired effect. Doesn't really matter since I circumvent Adobe by using other products like Sketchbook Pro, ToonBoom Studio and Swift 3D.

It's not as intuitive as the Adobe product line, but it works. Not on the video editing side though :/

Gamefly keeps rolling out sales each week. Check their site every now and again for various sales across ALL platforms. I don't recommend buying anything on disc since they are all scratched to hell and often don't read. Stick to cartridges(DS, 3DS, Vita) or PC downloads.

*edit* GIMP is a neat program. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, Kay. It works with my Intuos5 on my desktop but I haven't tried it on the Surface Pro yet. I've bought quite a few games from them on disc and while some have some scratches, they all have played with no problems. I'm sure you could send it back for another copy if the disc is damaged beyond repair.

Just an option, of course.

Gamefly CSRs are pretty good with replacements and returns. And the games do come with the codes and inserts intact so that's good. But, on two separate occasions I have a game unreadable, replaced only to be unreadable. It could be bad luck on my part, but there have been chips on all discs I've purchased. I'm guessing from the mailers being tossed around like mad.
