Feedback, Suggestions and Help

Hey guys. I am creating this thread so we can get and feedback you have, suggestions or if you need help with something just ask here and we can figure out what is wrong.

There are a lot of options for making more sub-forums and all kinds of other stuff. So if we get say enough activity for TV we could house all the different threads in a subforum. There is just a lot of other stuff. If you guys have a suggestion for an idea. Want to float a thread idea (though obviously you are free to just make a thread). Whatever. Drop in here and let us know.

When I made this forum up a bunch of things were on or off by default that didn't really make sense (like the Spanish buttons). We have been in back trying to fix everything but there might be things we don't even know about yet. So if you have a problem of just need help on how to use something also let us know. I'm sure most of you know about this stuff being forum people, but there is a lot of new stuff compared to 1up that some people who mostly went there might not know. Spiddy suggested maybe I create a FAQ which I can do, but this could suffice for now.

I would just like to say that I support bi-lingual buttons. I don't know Spanish but it intrigues me.

I do know how to say multi quote in Spanish now. Not a phrase I recall learning during my high school days.

One suggestion I have that might help the club is to listen to me always. I'm always right, so it will really help. Final Fantasy VII is the best game ever!

I'm not a forum type of person, and the only forum I really ever liked was the PS Peeps one. Go fucking figure that would get closed down. Normally I only post on forums for a couple days and never come back. Hopefully that doesn't happen again, but I don't think it will since I like everyone on here.

Ok, so this site is fully functional on android. I just tested everything. If you have a slide phone, caps may not work with the physical keyboard in chatbox.

I tried out the blogging and there are a few things that stood out. One is that posting a picture automatically put it at the end of the blog no matter what, so be on the lookout for that and centering things was a little weird. Other than that they worked well, though I strongly recommend anyone writing here preview before they post, it will go a long way. Tools are a little different from 1up, but nothing we can't get used to I think.

I am going to try and bring back Top Fives with the new forum here. We have a few members like Bannen that probably never got involved in them. Maybe even do some old ones and redo them with a slightly different group.

Also when appropriate I will bring back the questionnaire style topics.

Also I'd like to continue to do those "What would you do with ______ series next?" topics. I'm not sure which series to go with next. Maybe even a Wishlist for an upcoming game in that vein for something like the new Infamous.

Suggestions for any of these are welcome.

Question: Is there a button that brings you to your next unread post in a topic? It took me years to learn that at 1Up but I absolutely loved it.

There should be a little box/page icon to the left of the thread title. Clicking it should do the trick.

Thanks, for some reason I thought that always brought you to the last post. Not the last post read.

One more issue; I'm horrible at finding things sometimes.

How can I stop getting email notifications for every new topic I participate in?

Real quick. The box on the left of the thread title does take you to the first unread though right? I think the little page thing to the far right next to the last poster's name takes you to the last post. I don't have a thread to make sure though at the moment.

As for the email issues. Go to your profile and then the preferences tab. Just check no for anything that sends you an email or for that specific one it says "Always Notify me of Replies" I kept getting emails though, so I had to opt out of a few threads I had already been getting emails for (I just clicked the link in the email) but I think that should do it. Let me know if that works. I might have done another thing as well.

@Kay: I think I have signatures toggled off. If people want them, I will activate them.

You know what I toggled them on. They were by default off. I find them cluttery on some forums, but we'll see how they go here. There is a lot of dead space in posts now anyway. I reserve the right to say the forum looks like a mess and turn them off later though... haha.

The box on the left works. Sometimes it just goes one post too far though.

And ya, I tried the same thing you did but still keep getting emails. I'll just keep unsubscribing and hopefully it'll stop.

So, since a lot of us are over on pixlbit, should we post a link to this forum or keep it rather exclusive? I mean, exclusive is cool but since you're admin, Trip, you can boot any jackasses.

You can post a link over there. Like you said I have full ban powers here. I like most of the people there anyway. If they didn't join on 1up I'm not sure they will here though.

Dude this forum is way better than that...THING we used on 1up. Also, we have better forums, we should make more nested categories so it doesn't go all crazy.

Make a Media/Books category for movie, TV, book whatever type discussions. Game forum, General discussion...that oughto do it unless this forum somehow becomes big and we start needing advice forums and introduction forums. BUT I THINK NOT...probably.

You should make Top 5's it's own sub-category...I love sub categories.

Haha that seems overkill but I will think on it. It might be good for keeping easier archives. I will definitely look to make more sub categories if certain topics get traction. It could certainly be a bit more organized.

Anyway I am glad you came Twolf or krubix. I thought you might be a holdout.

Once we get some Top Fives going I will look into making one then.

Naw, I was just gone over the weekend purely because I was away from my keyboard and browsing one up on an ipod just...isn't...worth it.

What about doing a March Madness bracket for something like we did last year for PlayStation games? Perhaps just video game characters? Something else? Let me know any thoughts.
