Re: Now Streaming Heads Up!
I checked out Romancing the Stone on Netflix (I just subscribed again since TV season is winding down). I heard it was an inspiration for Uncharted (I know not the greatest reason to watch a movie, but whatever gets me there I figure). Pretty fun! I can definitely see the similarities.

Kay, I'll create a list tomorrow morning. It'll span different genres and I may make some obvious choices given that I don't know what you've seen. Long story short: I'm putting you to work and it's gonna be awesome.

I love adding movies to my already long-ass list. I like having a physical list, I don't know about you guys but there's something supremely satisfying about going through it every so often and just checking shit off.

I have the same "problem". There has been months where I've tricked myself into thinking I pay sites like Netflix or Hulu just for making insanely long lists without ever getting close to cracking them.

Re: Now Streaming Heads Up!
I bought Amazing Spider-Man on blu-ray today. I feel like I've betrayed myself by buying this over the Spider-Man trilogy from the early 2000's that I don't have on blu-ray. I'm buying it really so I can reacquaint myself with the movie so when I watch the second one sometime soon I'm not too confused. It's not that I don't like this one (it's all right), but I just feel the Raimi movies are so much better. Spider-Man 2 is still my favorite super hero movie.
@Volvo, I still plan on buying Spectacular Spider-Man, it's in my cart I'm just waiting for a good price. Did you see the second movie? If so, any good?

Re: Now Streaming Heads Up!
Yeah, I saw the movie opening day. It's a little too long and has some pointless/stupid parts, but every second Spidey is in his costume feels fantastic. It's a lot more fun than ASM1, everything's brighter and more colorful while the action's a lot more fast and fun. Also does something really cool with his spider sense that you don't really see in action setpieces. Raimi's 2's still better hands down, but I think it's a big improvement over ASM1.
Though they actually kind of ignore ASM1. If you Dr Connors worked at Oscorp and tried turning everyone into half lizard people then Captain Stacy died and asked Peter to stay away from Gwen, you're pretty much set.

Re: Now Streaming Heads Up!
A cool bonus about buying this first spider-man movie is I get a free ticket to go and see the second one. I've gotten these free tickets before and I'm betting they don't work at most places, but it's worth a try. Upon rewatching it (I'm about halfway through the first movie), it is better than I first remember. It seems like the ending of the first movie was rushed, but I could just be remembering wrong.

Re: Now Streaming Heads Up!
I got that same ticket when I bought Spectacular. Worked fine for me. I also enjoyed ASM1, but do think they did rush it a little at the end. Like maybe a few more scenes to really establish Dr. Connors' motives would have helped.

Re: Now Streaming Heads Up!
I watched it when it came out in theaters just the one time, but you're right about his motives. He grows an arm and he's bad and Spider-Man fights him and wins, the end. Glad to know the action scenes are better in the second movie, because it is really the only thing that seems to be lacking with this. Same with Raimi's first, not a lot of action scenes, just Peter getting his ass kicked for most of the movie (but I still loved it).

Re: Now Streaming Heads Up!
I was kind of able to piece it as the serum making him insane, but just have something like Willem Dafoe talking to himself in the original Spider-Man and problem's solved.

Willem Dafoe sure is ugly. His creepy face seems perfect for a mirror session tell-all.

Again, I don't know what Kay has seen. Figured some popular choices could help.

Sorry, I really wasn't trying to be a dick, just thought it was funny is all. Anyways month looks kind of lame. Especially since World War Z is included. Fuck that movie.

Re: Now Streaming Heads Up!
No hard feelings. If Kay watched more movies this wouldn't be a problem.
Got it from the Paste website. They clearly don't know all the titles past that first week so there's more to come.
I'm curious about the Oldboy remake but I should know better.

Re: Now Streaming Heads Up!
I watched the new X-Men. It was alright I guess. Nothing to get overly excited about.
That said, there's a little action sequence involving slowed down time that is fucking amazing.
