Re: Dishonored
Works for me. I'm actually on vacation all of next week so I'll have nothing but time.
Re: Dishonored
When I started palying this game...man, I have not lost interest in a game so fast in a long time. It's not a BAD game I just felt no incentive for being sneaky. Couldn't get immersed.
Hope you dig it more than I did.

Re: Dishonored
I already played it (not including DLC) and LOVED it. Not interested in replaying it at the moment, but I can harass you guys if you'd like
Re: Dishonored
I played through the first mission and a little bit after that when I first bought the game a while back but in order to refresh my memory I started completely over.
Hard to judge the combat to much so far. Its been pretty basic. Did not find it necessary to use the gun just yet. Blocking with my sword and countering seems to be working just fine at the moment. As for being stealthy I should probably just give up on that. I got spotted a lot and always ended up having to fight. There might have been one or two guards I was able to maneuver past. Looking forward to getting new abilities and seeing how they work.

Re: Dishonored
Very rarely do enemies respawn. The only instance of this I recall is on the second level there's a courtyard where reinforcements will show up once you complete a particular objective.
Don't forget to peek too. As ridiculous as it is, enemies will never see you even if they walk right through your face.
I never got engaged in the combat. I was going for a no-kill / ghost run, but a glitch screwed me up.

I might pick this up and play through with you guys just so I can cross it off my backlog.

Re: Dishonored
I feel like I am terrible at finding collectibles and items. I hate seeing the mission recap and it being like, yea you missed pretty much everything. Has me doubting if I should replay it or just live with it.
Re: Dishonored
If you've played Thief it helps. The way the items are "hidden in plain sight" reminds me a lot of that game. It takes some getting used to, but you'll figure out how the game operates. I've played Dishonored a ton and I have yet to get 100% items in more than 2 levels.
Re: Dishonored
I usually try to do non-lethal playthroughs in stealth games but in this game it's kind of frustrating to so I kills all the peoples.

Re: Dishonored
The game will punish you for being too lethal. The more people you kill, the harder the game gets, and it puts you on the path toward the "bad" ending.
That being said, it's a perfectly acceptable way to play the game, but just be aware that the game will basically treat you like a bad guy. The design team is a little weird in their own morality (seriously, look up Harvey Smith sometime) and the consequences of your actions are pretty weird.
For example, at one point you are tasked with taking out a woman. Obviously, you can just plain kill her, but the "non lethal" option (and the one the game treats you as a good guy for taking) is to drug her and put her on a raft in the care of someone who has been stalking her for years with his promise that she'll never be seen again. That sounds a little worse if you ask me...

Re: Dishonored
Damn that kind of concerns me now. I didnt realized taking out the bad guys would lead to a bad ending. My only option is to run away because I seem to keep getting spotted. I could start over again I guess.
Re: Dishonored
I wouldn't really worry about the endings, the games story is definitely not a strong point. A lot of the gameplay mechanics make lethal play more exciting and interesting whereas nonlethal pretty much blink your way to victory.
Re: Dishonored
Right, Imma restart this game because I don't remember what was happening/how to play this. And I am going to go for the worst ending possible.

Re: Dishonored
Play it however you want. Personally, like I said, I don't for the way the game weighs morality. You could always just YouTube the "good" ending. The only difference is how violent and infected the city becomes, and the cinematic that plays at the end.
Re: Dishonored
Well I just ended up continuing on but now I got myself stuck in a certain area. Not sure how far you've made it pspiddy so I don't want to spoil anything just yet. I'm going to give it another go later tonight.
Out of curiosity what powers do you guys find the most useful? I still haven't even unlocked them all and I trying now to decide which ones I should bothering trying to go for.

Re: Dishonored
Well I was having issues with the party mission. Once I alerted the guards by accident I was kind of screwed. The game checkpointed me right after I made the mistake too so there was really no turning back. At that point I just had to go all out and take down everyone I saw. Finally completed the mission and moved on though. I'm on what I believe is the 7th mission now. Feels like I'm nearing the end pretty soon. Probably another day or two at most.
