Re: What have you been listening to?
It was hard to find a non-live version of his songs, but I thought you might like Kevin Devine if you liked Bright Eyes:
Kevin Devine - Brother's Blood
Will try to find some more stuff for you. Figured I'd throw this one up real quick.

Re: What have you been listening to?
Ha! Who knew. Do you have Spotify spiddy? I could make a playlist up on there. If not I'll just throw some more youtube links at you.
Re: What have you been listening to?
Oh pspiddy, didn't know you were a lover of Conor Oberst and Bright Eyes! You're making my heart all a flutter. He's the best song writer out there right now, right up there with Jack White in my opinion.
As far as some stuff you might not have listened to, you should really listen to Lana Del Rey. She's poppy, yet indie, and extremely dark. Her music is very seductive. That's my suggestion. Either one of her albums is brilliant, but if I were to pick a fave it would be Born to Die.

I think I can send you the playlist if I know your user name. It has been a while since I've done it, but I know I've done that before.
Re: What have you been listening to?
I don't use the app. I just use the program on my computer which is ad supported but free. I believe the mobile app has a monthly subscription fee. I guess it's not a good solution for mobile. I'll throw some more YouTube links up once I'm back on my computer.
Re: What have you been listening to?
Speaking of dancing I used to a really good dancer. Won contests in highschool. Everyone seemed to think I was the life of the party at dances. It's been awhile though.

I'm serious; is there a way we can all share music and such in a controlled way without links? Like, is there a format here can do that? T-Wolf's shit was A-OK but it devolved into "who fucking cares" from what I gather. Nice thought, but what of it?
Just a thought. I think it would be cool since I KNOW in my gut Avid is jamming Abba. He's a friggin dancing queen like nobody's business. I just want proof.
Thanks buddy -_-'

Re: What have you been listening to?
@Spiddy I occasionally use grooveshark since I don't get Spotify in Canada. It's not the greatest thing out there. I think everything's set up by the community so some songs are improperly tagged or they have terrible audio quality. But it lets you broadcast your own playlists, and I'm pretty sure that's a free feature.
I'm probably the only one here who uses it, but you don't need an account just to listen to music, so it would probably be easy to set up your own playlist and post a single link for everyone to use.
edit: I forgot, you still have to pay to use it on mobile devices.
Anyone else looking forward to the new Queens of the Stone Age album?

Good luck on securing that proof. Given that I believe I dance worse than Elaine from Seinfeld, you'll get no such proof from me.
I've given Abba some attention but they do nothing for me. Bee Gees, on the other hand? Fuck. Yeah.

Re: What have you been listening to?
Oh man, I'm so jealous of you. I was too young to ever watch them live. Starting listening to them because my sister did. In Utero is always my favorite album of all time, and Nevermind is my second. I have other bands that I love, but Mr. Cobain's music is something special.
Back in 2011 when they had the 20th anniversary for Nevermind I snatched up the limited edition Picture Disc Vinyl set. Only 1,991 made! One of my best purchases ever. Hopefully they do the same for In Utero this year.

I've heard a really good Lovesick cover by The White Stripes. Jack White does a really good job covering Dylan.

Probably my favorite Dylan cover he does is The White Stripes version of Black Jack Davey.
Bought the new Queens of hte Stone Age album. Only listened to it once but it seems pretty good.

Listening to the new QOTSA and Alice In Chains albums. They're both worthwhile but I have a feeling the Queens album is going to grow on me more and more.
