Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
Now that we know most of what is coming out this year, what new games do you plan to get/play for the rest of this year? Feel free to put them into buy, rent, wait for a sale, etc. categories if you want.
Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
I'm buying MGSV (at launch for PC,) Persona 5 (special edition at launch for PS3 or Ps4,) and Just Cause 3 (PC.) Still considering Xenoblade Chronicles X depending on how much I end up liking the first.
Waiting for a sale or impressions on everything else

Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
I think it would be something like this for me:
Release Day Buys
Uncharted Collection
Rock Band 4
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Buy at Some Point
Yoshi's Woolly World
Super Mario Maker
The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes
Rare Replay
Tearaway Unfolded
Rent
Batman Arkham Knight
Until Dawn
Mad Max
Halo 5: Guardians
Mario Tennis Ultra Smash
Uncharted and Rock Band I will just buy right away. Everything else I may try and rent first and either keep (to get a bit of a discount) or just buy later when it is cheaper.

Going to play as much PS3 as I can until the end of the summer.
Maybe finish the Skyrim main quest.
Finish LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 with my sister.
Replay ICO
And then in September I'm getting a 32 gig Vita card and spending some quality time with that.
Killzone Mercenary
Secret Agent Clank
Sly Cooper Thieves in Time, etc...
Hooray for actually getting to things that I have!
PS4 will be a definite in 2016

If I was loaded I'd buy a Vita JUST for the re-release of Persona 4. Since my old PS3 busted I can't play any of my PS2 games which is upsetting.

Just get a Playstation TV if that's all you want it for. I've seen them go down down to $40 at times

Or you can buy Persona 4 digitally as a PS2 Classic

Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
Like Mot I'll probably mostly be playing older games. I want to at least get to Xenoblade for 3DS and some of my PC RPGs (my poor KOTOR 2 playthrough had to be stuck in between 2 "videogames are boring" phases and now I can't seem to get back to it.)
Also want to pick up some games that already came out this year or late last year, like Splatoon, Bloodborne, and Legend of Grimrock 2. I'm mainly just waiting for money to get Splatoon. My first paycheck somehow never ended up in my account, soo...

They released P4 as a PS2 classic? That's a good option. HOWEVER, the Vita version is all souped op.

A testament to how amazing Sony's marketing is.

I went on their website and still couldn't find out what it is. It's a small box.

I really only like Sony when it comes to video games and I don't even really know much about it. Does anyone know if you can put a Vita game into it, or does it all have to be downloaded?

Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
Yeah you can play physical Vita games on it. But just like digital, not all Vita games are compatible.
Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
It does play P4G, though. It's basically a cheap P4G machine and PSP for anyone that already has a Ps3. Not sure it plays any other noteable Vita exclusives unless they updated Gravity Rush for it.

Eh...not worth it. Despite how awesome P4G looks.

To me it's worth it for PS1 classics alone. I'll probably get one someday.

I need to figure out a good method of hooking up my old PSX and (eventual) PS2 to the TV since my backwards compatible beauty is dead ;____;

Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
All PS3's play PS1 games though. So you should just need a PS2 solution.
Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
And the Ps3 plays all Ps1 games on the store, unlike the Vita/PSTV

I have a PSTV, and I like it pretty well. It plays Tales of Hearts, P4G, and Freedom Wars. I'm looking forward to playing Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 on it when they hit the US.

I'd really like to see how well it handles Killzone Mercenaries, because that was a fantastic game that could be even better with a proper controller.
Seriously, how did I not know that all PS3 systems play all PS1 games? You do mean the disc, right?

Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
Yeah PS1 discs work on all PS3s. I think there might be some particular games that don't work or don't work well though. I'm sure googling will give you a list. And I believe it is region-locked for PS1 games too.
As for you not knowing... not sure. I think when backwards compatibility was first removed people assumed that meant PS2 and PS1. But they just removed the hardware based BC (PS2) and not the software based BC (PS1). That is how I remember it though I could be wrong on the specifics. Still not sure how you didn't discover this between then and now though!

Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
I thought only a few PS1 games worked on new Ps3s...? Classic Sony

Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
I guess I should have have mentioned this earlier? I just figured people knew. I can't find a compatibility list, but if a PS1 game worked for the old PS3 it should work for the new ones presumably.
Re: Gaming Plans for the Rest of 2015
Well shit. I like how excited I am for this, but I never play my PS1 games besides the few JRPG ones that I play on my Vita. Still, this excites me more than it actually should.

Well it still doesn't matter since my PS3 started eating discs. Suppose I could find someone to repair it but...
