Now Playing
I'm over AC, but this looks like a cool spin on it. They are doing some cool different stuff in there.
Re: Now Playing
I get they're doing it better and different and certain regards, but every time I see a gameplay video I lose interest. Think it's the way the climbing looks more than anything else.

Yeah I don't blame you. Was just giving my two cents on why I'm still a bit intrigued. A lot of my Twitter gaming friends seem to be digging it too.
Re: Now Playing
Completed the new PC today. Not going to be installing many games until the hard drive arrives (using an SSD that I want to dedicate to necessities as much as possible) but I did decide to finally try out Crysis on PC since that seemed like an appropriate starting point despite being so old. I'm not having as much fun as I did with Far Cry but it's still a pretty solid shooter. I think playing on a higher difficulty would probably lessen my issued with Crysis
It still looks pretty good. Rock textures are awful and the lighting is a bit unrealistic but a graphics mod helped with the latter

Went back to Hyrule Warriors and finally unlocked Link's final weapon and its the literal best thing. It's the great fairy carrying him in a giant bottle and pulling him out for certain attacks all the while Link just looks like "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?"

It's been too long since I last played Resident Evil 4 and it's October so I'm back into that game. So glad I have the remastered version on PC, this game at 60 FPS is amazing.

I've only played a tiny a bit of The Evil Within but I really like it so far. It is indeed pretty creepy and the atmosphere is really great. If I want to get anywhere I should probably just stop trying to disarm bombs though. I blow myself up every. time.

Re: Now Playing
The Legend of Korra game is pretty good. Has a shaky start since you can't use any of the bending and the combat was made for that instead of hand to hand, but it gets better and better as you get elements and lets you have them all during replays, which is great. Not as polished as your typical Platinum game though, but that's understandable since it's downloadable. Any Avatar fan would enjoy it and it's worth a look if you want a good action game.

Re: Now Playing
I watched the Quick Look of The Legend of Korra on Giant Bomb and it kind of completely turned me off from it. Didn't look like anything special. But I only watched the first season of the show... hopefully it'll be a freebie or at a big discount on PS+ and I'll try it out.
I started Shadow of Mordor the other day. It's basically Batman combat with swords and arrows. I haven't gotten far enough yet to really decide what I think about it. But its fun to run around and kill dudes... my only complaint is there are a lot of systems and menus and they don't really explain it well... I've spent the majority of my play time messing around in menu screens to see what it all does.

Re: Now Playing
I'm enjoying Korra. But it also makes me wish it was sort of a bigger budget game. The combat has a lot of depth once you get everything back. I know Platinum doesn't really do non-combat gameplay well, but I'd love if they had bigger levels you could explore and like Naga was a mount or something. This is such a cool world and the game's feels empty I guess. I could see some cool platforming developed with Korra's powers. Still this is a lot of fun. Just kind of makes me imagine a bigger more fleshed out game with some of these mechanics in.
Re: Now Playing
Yeah, same here. I'd love to see Platinum cover the series with the same budget they had for Bayonetta. Hope it succeeds either way because I'd really like Activision to do more business with Platinum. A Wolverine or Spider-Man game made by them would be incredible.

Re: Now Playing
Korra is really fun its length, and the horrible background graphics are my only issues, but combat is really great. Nice way to get hyped for Bayonetta 2 this friday too. Worth the 15 bucks easily.
A bigger bugdet game would have been nicer, but i cant see acti throwing out a ton of cash on a platinum developed game with out first testing the waters.

Re: Now Playing
I kind of feel like they'd need a bigger license than Korra too. Avatar is one of my favorite franchises, but Korra is a little too cult, especially compared to how popular The Last Airbender was. That's why I suggested those two. Feel either tackled by Platinum could be a great fit for the company and a huge hit, especially with how popular superheroes are.

Re: Now Playing
A Platinum Wolverine game sounds rather amazing, even if it turned out to be little more than MGR Rebrandgeance

Re: Now Playing
Yeah a Wolverine game by them would be cool. What is MGR like compared to Bayonetta and/or Korra?
Re: Now Playing
In terms of polish, it's much closer to Bayonetta, but not quite as polished. It feels like Bayonetta mixed with Ninja Gaiden more than anything. And the parry system is kind of like Korra's counter but a block and needs more skill.

its length is closer to Korra's too but it has more side stuff and replay incentive.

Re: Now Playing
MGR was at least twice as long as Korra. Though Bayo was a pretty lengthy game for an action title.

Re: Now Playing
Maybe i just played Korra slow, but MGR really only seemed about 1-2 hours longer to me. Given its been awhile since i played it
Re: Now Playing
I know Hideo Kojima didn't make it, but I feel like I've let him down by never playing MGR. I never really liked Bayonetta, and besides God of War I'm not a big action game fan. The combat doesn't really appeal to me in God of War, I just like the Greek mythology and Kratos' journey.

I'd rather see Platinum do something other than licensed games. I hope that isn't all that's in their future.

But on the subject of Legend of Korra, I never got into the Avatar franchise, but it looks like Activision is also doing a SRPG for the 3DS based on the property in the style of Fire Emblem.

Re: Now Playing
Of course after I finally decided to buy and play GTA San Andreas they want to do an HD version of the game. Man, I was probably about 1/3 through that game too.

Re: Now Playing
That happened to me every single time I bought a game on the PS2 because I figured I couldn't find it anymore. It would get an HD remake a month later, or a cheaper collector's edition re-release or some crap. So I feel your pain Bret.

Re: Now Playing
I'm on that Bayonetta 2. I almost didn't get it though. Turns out it's sold out everywhere in town. I got the last copy in my area.
Also picked up another big game I was anticipating today - Fantasy Life (3DS).
Don't know what they're getting at making a HD remake of GTA: SA and making it for the 360 no less. Why bother with it now?

Re: Now Playing
I have faith it will come to the PS3 as well. I thought about it, and I'm not going to pay the $15 they'll probably charge for it. Sure the game looks kind of crappy on my big TV, but I don't want to play 10 hours worth of a game again just for it to be clearer and for some trophies. The reason I bought this game in the first place is to finally play it, and to play it before I get GTAV for Christmas. That would just put me really far behind.
Sucks doesn't it Chris? I think the same thing happened with God of War 2. I played and beat 1, and liked it so I got 2. Not long after they announced the HD remake. I was in full blown trophy mode though so I shelled out the cash for some digital glory.

Re: Now Playing
Bayo 2 is nuts. And Kay, you articulated exactly what I'm thinking. This is a true "best in its genre" game.
