I've been listening to Ms Mr lately. Bought it on iTunes and it has some catchy hooks.
Singles "Hurricane" and "Think of You" deserve listens.

Here's a few of my favorites by The Animals Kubert (in no particular order except House of Rising Sun. That's #1)

Since I'm learning german I figured I'd check out some newer german music. I can't get enough of this song. Just a straight up fun and catchy song. Kind of reminds me of early Bloc Party too, with the energy it has

Re: What have you been listening to?
I've had this song stuck in my head for a month now. It's super catchy / happy.
And yes, I'm a uber nerd who listens to video game music.

Re: What have you been listening to?
Been listening to this band loads lately. Everything about their music just feels right.
Been listening to video game and show soundtracks (Or music from bands involved in a song for part of 'em) for so long now it always surprises me when someone in real life finds it a litttle odd. I'd find it weird if people don't listen to the soundtrack to somethings after, stuff like the Persona or Final Fantasy OSTs.
Kill la Kill OST is what all the cool kids are into at the moment because goddamn the OST for that show was fucking amazing.

Nirvana's like The White Stripes to me, they never put out a bad album. In Utero is my favorite, it has all the loud riffs that Bleach does but better lyrics and Dave Grohl's terrific drumming.
What's your favorite songs on Bleach? No order, but if I were to pick 4 it would be About A Girl, School, Paper Cuts, and Sifting.

Re: What have you been listening to?
They call it shredding because it sounds like you're literally shredding a guitar
I'm kind of in love with Terry Riley's "In C" and Steve Reich's "Music For 18 Musicians" right now. Not sure if they'd be in anybody's wheelhouse here, but in either this year or the next of school I should be able to join an ensemble that performs music like In C. Pretty exciting to me

Re: What have you been listening to?
Have you ever listened to the original version of Love Buzz? After listening to Love Buzz hundreds of times, it was a really nice change to listen to the trippy original version by Shocking Blue.
Dave is great, also a very funny man. I wish when it came to Foo Fighters he'd lay off the songs where he's trying to scream, I think his voice is best served with harmonies (Doll, Everlong, Big Me, songs like that). Still, that man can drum like a mother fucker.
Mr. Cobain can play guitar, that's for sure. He might not be a technical maestro, but that kind of guitar playing bores me.

It's the worst time of the year, it's the day I have dubbed "Happy Unhappy Kurt Cobain Killed Himself Day". Worst. Day. Ever. I'll probably post songs for the next few days.

Re: What have you been listening to?
Yup, read it. Read it so much as a youth the binding gave out on a lot of pages. Another great read that may be better is Heavier Than Heaven. It's written with interviews and Courtney gave the author access to his journals. One thing about Kurt in interviews is that he lies a lot, and he lied a lot in the Come As You Are book.
It sure is stupid. With or without fame, I think he was destined to commit suicide. Suicide and depression were in his family tree.

Re: What have you been listening to?
This turned into a Nirvana thread so gradually, I hardly even noticed.
Listened to some of The Pixies' new music today (because I didn't feel like Nirvana) and it's so... meh. Sounds to me like they're just making music because they feel obligated to do it. At least Kurt's not here to see this.

Re: What have you been listening to?
Well that sounds like a.....
...Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic...disappointment.
Not sure if anyone will get that.
I'll gladly talk Nirvana, I'll probably bug this thread for a couple more days and be done with it unless someone mentions something Nirvana related.

I will going to see CHVRCHES in May. It is a free concert in Philly, so I expect it to be a complete clusterfuck.
