What are the most valuable and/or rarest games you own?

Like the title says. What rare or valuable gaming treasures are lying in your possession at this moment? Were you lucky enough to buy brand-new at the right time, or are you Scrooge McDuck and have mad money lying around in your giant money bin to blow on games that now trade in three figures on Amazon or eBay?

My most prized is probably my Game Gear and an almost complete collection of games. It's worth everything to me seeing as it was the first platform I purchased by my lonesome.

Before the flood I'd say my Lynx. RIP. I loved that thing.

Worth the most monetarily? I'd have to have you check out my shit because I have no idea. Maybe Tactics Ogre? Is that even worth anything?

I was a Game Boy kid myself and had a boat-ton of games for it - a lot of which have been misappropriated, sadly - but I always thought the Game Gear was a pretty nifty platform. I wouldn't have minded having one. I've contented myself with a few Game Gear downloads on 3DS.

Damn, that sucks, losing something as rare as a Lynx. I never saw one of those in the wild.

Tactics Ogre? You mean Atlus's PS1 version? Yeah, that's worth a pretty fair amount of change, particularly if you still have the original case and manual for it. People are selling the game disc in a generic jewel case with no manual for 86 bucks on Amazon. I wouldn't mind having that one except that I already have the PSP remake.

Not really sure, but I the copy I have of Xenogears is in pretty mint condition.

Xenogears runs about $35-40 if it's a black label Squaresoft version, about $20-30 if it's a green-label Square Enix version. It's also available digitally on PSN. Games that aren't available by download on modern systems tend to hold their value a bit more, although Final Fantasy VII is surprisingly expensive given that it's readily available for download and it was the second best selling PS1 game of all time.

My Devil Summoner 2 CE is all kinds of janky. The stuffed toy is laid out all funky and the box has a little water damage. I should probably just open the damn thing.

I can't think of too many games I have that are worth anything anymore. I have Suikoden III which runs for...a bit but not absurd amounts. I've still got first editions (as it were) of certain PS games and maybe someday those will be valuable but for now...not so much.

I was too nice when the PS1 was out and I let a lot of people borrow games that I never got back. Makes me really mad. There are some PS2 games as well, but not as many. I'd say I easily had 30-40 PS1 games but it seems like I only have around 15 now.

My most valuable game is definitely Panzer Dragoon Saga. It's the European version, which I can play on my US Saturn through an Action Replay Plus code. I bought it for $200 on Amazon - and that was actually a bargain compared to what it normally goes for ($400+). Even a single disc of it can cost $100, and it's a four-disc game. I bought it because I took a week-long work assignment in Lawton, which is a 90 minute drive from my home, so I had to stay at a hotel, and they paid me $50 extra a day, up front. I also own Suikoden II ($120 on Amazon, but I found it for much less than that locally at Vintage Stock).

My most valuable bought-when-it-first-came-out game is Valkyrie Profile. I bought it new at Gamestop in 2000 for $30. I passed over Chrono Cross for it. It's now worth $60-80.

I have a black boarder copy of FF 7 and FF Tactics.
I have CIB versions of FF Adventure and FF Legend 1-3.
I've got the Arc the Lad collection and Lunar 1&2 also CIB.
A black boarder copy of Mega Man Legend 2, and Castlevania: SotN
I've also got copies of Eirgiz (sp?) Thunder Force V, and.. that's all I can think of at the moment.

Don't really have any rare games. Given the fact that the price of MGS Legacy has increased by 50% already everywhere I look I'd say give it a gen or so and it might be pretty rare.

Mega Man Legend 2 and Misadventures of Tron Bonne are pretty rare and valuable. Having CIB versions of old Nintendo games is pretty cool. I've noticed that people tended to throw away their Nintendo boxes and manuals and they kept their PS1 cases and manuals. Earthbound is still pretty damned valuable on eBay even though you can get it on Wii U.

I'm surprised about how much the MGS Legacy Collection is worth. Makes me wish I'd bought it, but to me it just looked like a rehash of the MGS HD Collection. I also skipped over the Metroid Prime Trilogy, which got valuable really quickly. I'm glad I bought Xenoblade Chronicles brand-new on launch day.

The HD MGS games for Vita are really expensive, and that pisses me off a lot. Wish I would have bought it when it came out. Now I'll probably just buy digital, which I don't like doing.
