I've never seen 2001, but I must say I enjoy Planet of the Apes. Only ever seen the first one, but whenever it is on TV I find myself to be thoroughly enjoying what I am watching.

Flash Gordon is a better space movie than 2001. Now we can have some real fun.

Today I watched Safety Not Guaranteed. I liked the movie, but wasn't a big fan of the ending. It is labeled a comedy, but surprisingly the funniest parts aren't from Aubrey Plaza. When the characters Jeff and Arnau are together are when the laughs are had. I also wish there would have been some resolution with Jeff and Liz. If anyone else likes indie comedies I'd recommend it for a dash of laughs and a pinch of heart. 4/5.

Wrong. 2001 is a documentary and events occurred in real time.

Come to think of it, a Queen soundtrack could've helped....

The best space movie is clearly Phantom Menace solely because of these three things....

1. Jar Jar Binks
2. Pod Racing
3. Young Anakin

Bret you have 24 hours to take that back or else you will face the wrath or Greenman. And just to show how serious I am, you have 12 hours.

Sorry, I can't. If Jar Jar was in the original trilogy it might have been watchable.

The Phantom Menace was great as a kid because, yes, pod-racing. And that weird, awkward feeling—that you don't understand when you're a kid—when you're so interested in the scenes with Padme

That youtube video is an hour and six minutes! If I'm gonna spend an hour watching something, it might as well be another hour watching the best ever space movie The Phantom Menace starring Jar Jar Binks and the best Anakin Skywalker portrayal ever!!!(even better than Darth Vader!)

Alright, that's it. Joss Whedon does not have a single clue how real people talk. He just lives in a fantasy world where everyone is oh so witty when in reality everyone would think these people are douchebags. Because they are.

Also, I hope you know I was joking volvo. I'm sure you did because you seem like a wise man. I don't hate Phantom Menace, but it is the worst out of the six in my opinion. The two best things to come out of it would be the Duel of Fates song and Darth Maul.

For the record I really like Han Solo and Empire Strikes Back is my favorite of all the Star Wars movies. I also think Genndy Tartakovsky's (creator of Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory) Clone Wars was far superior to all 3 prequel films.

Of course I knew you were joking. But Phantom Menace was not even close to the worst of the six. Attack of the Clones is. That piece of shit is the worst thing I've ever seen.

I haven't watched them since they came out, but always remember thinking they got better as they went. The problem with all 3 was Anakin. Another thing, Mace Windu should have Big Kahoonaed the shit out Palpatine and that wah baby.

I honestly wouldn't say the biggest problem was Anakin, though he was a huge issue. Their biggest issue was that they had no idea why we liked the originals. Yoda's big thing was that he was a master Jedi despite being a little creature showing how powerful the Force can be? Let's give him a lightsaber and have him jump around compensating for a physical handicap!
Obi-Wan and Anakin were friends? Let's have them do nothing but yell at each other when together and complain about each other when apart then end it with Obi-Wan cutting his limbs, but letting the lava finish it!
Vader was seduced by the Dark Side? Let's have Palpatine trick him into becoming evil, have Anakin discover he was played after killing Samuel L Jackson, then just go with it anyways.
People want badass Jedi? Let's cast Liam Neeson and Samuel L Jackson as Jedi and turn them into two of the most boring characters ever who do not let either actor showcase their strengths. Seriously, if the prequels didn't exist, the mere mention of Liam Neeson or Samuel L Jackson as Jedi would be declared as the best thing ever and Lucas somehow made it lame!

I just remember being so annoyed whenever Anakin was crying. "They won't let me fight...." What did she ever see in him? He probably Jedi mind fucked her and raped her.

They even made the lightsaber lame. Every damn time they knew people would get bored of what's going on (and for good reason) they just had people pull out a lightsaber. They even gave kids a bunch of lightsabers despite common sense saying they're too young to use one of them.
