Six months into 2018, so it is about time we do one of these. Just copied the one from last year:
What is your Game of the Year So Far and why? Feel free to make a list if you have played enough games to do so or mention a favorite handheld and downloadable game if you want.
What was the biggest disappointment for you in gaming this year? It could be a game, a part of a game, an announcement and so on.
What is the best game you played for the first time this year that released in a previous year and why?

Here's mine:
What is your Game of the Year So Far and why? Feel free to make a list if you have played enough games to do so or mention a favorite handheld and downloadable game if you want.
My two favorites have been Celeste and God of War. I'd lean towards Celeste for Game of the Year right now, but I may change my mind later (or perhaps something will jump them both in the second half of the year). Celeste does its kind of masochistic one-screen platforming pretty much perfectly and the story dealing with anxiety and despression felt very relatable to me. God of War was a quality reinvention of a series. There were things the other games did better (boss fights and platforming), but I loved the new take on combat, the game world/macro level structure, and the new story and lore and plenty more. There was a lot of cool optional content too (due to the aforementioned world structure).
What was the biggest disappointment for you in gaming this year? It could be a game, a part of a game, an announcement and so on.
Probably the Yoshi delay. That was my personal big game on Switch for the year and I'm not super enthused about the line-up on Switch in 2018 now.
What is the best game you played for the first time this year that released in a previous year and why?
Bloodborne or Hollow Knight. I haven't finished either, but I am enjoying them both greatly so far. Bloodborne for the level structure and challenging boss fights. Hollow Knight for a great take on its subgenre that leverages some unique mechanics for that subgenre and has some really satisfying boss fights and exploration.
What are your top five most anticipated games for the rest of 2018?
1. Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Really like the look of this in terms of improvements from Rise. If it can be on par with that game I'll be plenty happy.
2. Spider-man: Looked better than ever at E3. Expecting this to be great now.
3. Life is Strange 2: Hype a little diminished after the demo thing, but I really enjoy this series/universe and think it will work better when it isn't restricted in its scope like that. Plus a new lead character I'd assume.
4. Spyro: Reignited Trilogy: Never played all of these, so excited to finally do so.
5. Mario Party (or something better I'm obviously forgetting): We play Switch at work a lot and Mario Party will be perfect for this.
What was your favorite new (music) album from this year? What about favorite song?
Chvrches' Love is Dead and "Wonderland" respectively.
What was your favorite TV show that aired this year so far? What about favorite episode?
The Good Place for comedy. Killing Eve for drama. I'll think about episodes some more.

Celeste for basically the same reasons as Trip. Second I guess would be Dragonball FighterZ

Every time I hear something new about Anthem
What is the best game you played for the first time this year that released in a previous year and why?
Very close between Final Fantasy XII and South Park TFBW. Think I'll give the edge to South Park though. Haven't enjoyed a WRPG that much since Mass Effect 3
What are your top five most anticipated games for the rest of 2018?
1. Spider-Man- Insomiac showed they can do really fun and fast paced traversal with Sunset Overdrive and though Spider-Man is different, 2 from the 6th gen still has the most fun traversal in a sandbox game ever.
If we get that with fun combat and missions we're talking goty material
2. Smash Bros- Me and my buds love Smash. This is everything I could want from it. Well maybe Crash Bandicoot in there too
3. Shadow of the Tomb Raider- Rise was a great time and I like Shadows new additions and the new devs have a good track record. Just hoping they can nail swimming portions. Crystal Dynamics had a unique talent for them
4. Pokemon Let's Go Eevee- I'm open minded to this but a bit weary on the new catching mechanics and that you can't evolve Eevee. That's the whole point of the Pokemon!
5. Bloodstained- Hoping it comes out this year. The NES immitator shows they get what does and doesn't work in Castlevania. If it doesn't come then either Spyro or Soul Calibur VI

Black Panther. Not even close
