Tough one. Mellon Collie & and the Infinite Sadness was one of my favouirte albums as a teenager, but these days I'd probably rather listen to Utada Hikaru, so Hikaru it is

This is pretty much how I feel too. Mellon Collie was like the soundtrack to my life in highschool (almost) god i listened to that album A LOT back then

@Kay - Mellon Collie, Foo Fighters and How To Make Friends & Influence People by Terrorvision were the albums of my very early teens. I kept jumping between listening to soul/R&B and rock, but those are the albums that most remind me of being 13-14

Mellon Collie and AFI's The Art of Drowning were probably my most listened to albums back then (there's others too but none of the rest really stuck with me enough to remember at least none of the depressing stuff which was like the majority of it haha). I still listen to the latter a lot, but i should probably go back and listen to Mellon Collie again it's been too long

I really liked both songs, but I went with Smashing Pumpkins here.

Now, Hikaru's song was pretty upbeat, catchy and she had a great voice but damm, that Smashing Pumpkins song was epic (and helped that I liked the Progressive Rock nature of the song).

It's tied! =D Huzzah. I like Utada...she's' the one Japanese pop artist who can actually hold a note and doesn't sound like a preteen badger being wrung out...that said, I have a few artists like that in my collection. But Utada is very good.

That said, you people haven't given me suggestions on what to do for a tie yet!

Thru The Eyes of Ruby was THE Smashing Pumpkins song for me. A friend had only the 2nd cassette of the Mellon Collie album (don't remember why) and he let me borrow it so I could make a copy (oh, those days of yore). It was during my first listen that I came across that song and that initial, virgin listen was a mind-blower and game-changer. Corgan was a master of giving his songs that epic, operatic feel and Ruby is a prime example of that.
