General TV Show Discussion

Well I have moved this to a new subforum. We will give it a try. Maybe it will go better. If there is a TV show you are watching at least give it a mention in here and maybe some others watch it and would jump in a thread. Though feel free to just make a thread. Even an old show many of us watched like Lost or The Wire or something might be worth a thread.

I have only seen a handful of episodes of the Regular Show, but whatever I watch I usually end up liking. I've watched most of this season and some of the first season. It's a show I'll continue to watch any new episode though. Nothing beats Mordecai and Rigby breaking out into song....

Mordecai: Eggs and sausage, hot sauce and ketchup. Now that's what I call a healthy big breakfast!

Rigby: Worried about your thighs, put the mayonnaise on the side. I SAID MAYONNAISE ON THE SIDE! WHY YOU STARING AT MY THIGHS!

Mordecai: On the side I keep my mayo, all my people saying hey-o!!!

Me and the girlfriend whip this number out a lot.

The Sopranos deserves it's own thread. But I'm not re-watching it yet so I'm not going to make it :p

I think people forget how awesome The Sopranos is/was because it isn't on the air anymore. That's a real shame.

Firefly = My number one cancelled tv series of all time!!! A not-so-close second place would be: Terra Nova (which is on Netflix for anyone that's interested). It's not a bad show about some people who live in a desolate future and go back in time-in an alternate dimension - to start a new civilization in the Cretaceous period.

I didn't know that's what Terra Nova was about. Why the hell would they want to go back in time to that period to start a civilization?

Because Jurassic Park meets Lost sounds good on paper.

My favorite cancelled-too-early shows would probably be Veronica Mars (got 3 seasons, so could be worse), SportsNight and Terriers. Terriers is on Netflix. Only 13 episodes. A private detective show of sorts. Worth a look if you are looking for a new show to check out on there.

Mine is Spectacular Spiderman. That cliffhanger is such torture. Like if Breaking Bad ended at season 3.

I thought Terra Nova was pretty well done for a "Jurassic Park meets Lost" concept, but it could just be me.

Ya, losing Spectacular Spider-Man was horrible. Especially considering we got the crappy Ultimate instead

Ultimate Spider-man is the worst super hero cartoon I've seen. Even 60's and 80's Spidey was better. At least they didn't have Drake Bell and teenage Nova.

Anyone watch Sons of Anarchy? I'm caught up on that for the first time prior to the new season starting.

Also lenny did you see the Alice in Wonderland Once Upon a Time spinoff of sorts that is coming this Fall?

I think I saw the commercial for the new spin off, but haven't even finished the second season of Once Upon A Time, yet. I'll probably have it get recorded on the DVR, but generally, I don't like watching shows until the entire season finishes. That way I avoid week-long cliff hangers. Hahah. What are your thoughts on the new spinoff, Trip?

It actually looks pretty neat, but since I have also not finished Season 2 of Once Upon a Time I don't really want to jump into this new one. If I hear its good I'll probably give it a go on Netflix next year though like you said.

I'm watching Grimm on Prime. It's awesome if you like terrible stuff like I do. It reminds me of Buffy. I know I should be watching Sons Of Anarchy, Game Of Thrones, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, and so on, but I like stupid stuff I can have on in the background. Screw paying attention >.<;

Also, Buffy isn't stupid/terrible stuff.

It's hard for me to go back to tv shows that are no longer widescreen... especially now that most tvs today are filmed and presented in widescreen. :\

Anyone else here besides me and Bret planning to watch Marvel: Agents of Shield? Given how much I love superhero cartoons I'm really excited to see a Marvel live action show.

I was going to watch it just because it feels like it will be a big deal. Anyone know which of the movies I should watch first? I fell out of the Marvel movies some time ago.

The ones tied into the show are every Iron Man, 2008 Hulk, Captain America, and Thor along with the Avengers. Both Iron Mans (and I'm guessing 3 but I haven't seen it) and Thor have the strongest ties to Avengers, Caps and Hulk have minor stuff, but are mainly there to get them ready for Avengers. They may tie into this show though.

If you want to narrow that, I'd say Iron Man 1 and Avengers are the two you need to see. I didn't see Thor or Caps until after Avengers and was caught up to speed with that movie really quick. Plus, Avengers is so fucking awesome while Iron Man is the one who really needs past development. Caps is basically the perfectly patriotic soldier given super strength after a WW2 era experiment, Thor is a guardian needing to protect Earth from his brother Loki, and Hulk....we all know Hulk

Thanks I'll may just check out those two then and maybe see the others later if I am really into them. Hopefully the show turns out well.

Just know that you will not be able to take Cobie Smulders seriously during Avengers. You'll keep humming "Let's Go to the Mall" in your head.

Hahaha. But wait, what about the other show How I Met Your Mother? Is she off of that show, now?

HIMYM is on it's last season and I think it's a shorter one. Don't quote me on that though

Colbie is only in the Avengers as of now, but I think there are plans for her to go to Shield once HIMYM is over.

@ Trip, you should definitely watch Agents of Shield, because Mr. Whedon is behind it. I live by the Whedon, I'll die by the Whedon.

She's already confirmed to go to Shield.

Good. Let's hope Whedon gives her character a musical past.
