Anticipated Movies and Trailers Thread
Well, greenie said it. We don't have a thread for anticipated movies/trailer discussions.
So, are you looking forward to a movie? Did you see a trailer that BLEW YOUR GOD DAMN MIND. Post it here.

Anyone here who hasn't seen The Raid: Redemption* needs to remedy that whenever they get the chance. If you want an action film done right (with brains, soul as well as bullets, kicks and punches), this lean and mean 2012 film from Indonesia was a personal favorite from that year. The director, Gareth Evans, is the next big thing as far as action film directors go and he's found his Tony Jaa in Iko Uwais (who starred in Evan's first film, Merantau*, which you should also check out). The sequel to The Raid, Berandal, will be in U.S. theaters March 28. It premiered in the Sundance Film Festival last week and word of mouth on it is that its an action film epic (2 1/2 hours in length) that expands the world of the first film, raises the stakes even higher and features set pieces that can shame the first film (no easy feat).
Here's a red-band teaser, delivering only what good teasers should:
And here's the first official trailer, which explains the setup:
I know there are other films to get excited for but this is a first priority for me.
*unfortunately, neither of these are currently streaming right now but trust me, they are worth renting.

For some reason the first movie didn't really strike me...and I love martial arts films, I don't care about the plots, but maybe it was the quality I watched it in or just the mood I was in but The Raid was good but I wouldn't buy it. Certainly some impressive stuff in there though.

New Sin City looks pretty sweet. I have actually seen the first one. I think I used to actually watch movies back when it released!

I can't wait. They don't have a big budget, but I love the characters and world that Don Coscarelli has made with these movies. Tall Man lives!

Kind of bitter sweet seeing all these trailers for Gandolfini's and Hoffman's last films lately...

Yeah, it really does. Turtles look horrible, plot seems uninteresting, and Megan Fox as April O'Neil. Bleh

Too bad it's going to go to waste by having him fight Superman. I mean, I like Man of Steel, but I can't see a way that doesn't end with it either retcon how powerful Superman is or making Bats way too powerful.

But Superman losing all of his powers for the fight? Sorry, but that's lame.

I just hope that the Bats/Supes tussle is based on something else than Miller's book. It doesn't make sense to make a Superman sequel with elements of a graphic novel that held that character in contempt.

I don't know why there's been such an influx of giant monster flicks but I'm all for it! Well, not sure how thrilled i am with the military set ups but sand wormy things are cool.
