Gaming Chat Thread

Spiddy suggested the idea of a general gaming chat thread. This will be for topics that don't fit into a specific thread and so Now Playing can focus more on specifically what people are playing. Maybe certain bits of gaming news or questions that people want to ask, but don't feel new thread worthy can fit in here. Stuff like that.

Though feel free to make a separate thread for any news bits you'd like to have a thread's full attention for as well. Good to spread the discussion about because in some of the bigger threads things can get sidetracked and good topics can get left behind.

Anybody have some funny multiplayer stories? I was playing Dead Island and got joined. Had no idea what that meant, but the team kept screaming at me to jump in a truck. I took that opportunity to beat the shit out of said truck with a baseball bat. Reminded me of how Killa and Greenie hate me during Uncharted.

*Let it be known that me and Lenny had loadouts that, literally, couldn't hit shit. Or maybe he did and just sucks. My toon was so awesome I was dead to sights on Greenie and hit wall.

My wife made our Home avatar and it still cracks me up how often I get hit on. Because pixel-boobs, amirite?

From now on any game night or twitch has to include boobs or boobies after every statement. Agreed?

Who did I collide with in Uncharted and fall simultaneously with...was that spiddy? Or Killa? I don't remember, but that was awesome. I'm sorry I had no headset then, I really wanted to yell at you all. That's why I wanna steam game with you guys.

Ah yes, it WAS you. I REALLY wish we had some form of recording for that. Man, I wish I had more...you know, modern technology so I could have more moments with you guys.

In case people didn't know (because I didn't), Final Fantasy X-2 on the Vita is downloadable only. Big disappointment for me. When I got to work today I started scouring the back room to see if we had it (I already knew we were getting Ground Zeroes), and I found it. Upon investigating the case I discovered on the front it said X-2 is downloadable only. The bummer is it takes 3.5 GB to download. I have a 16 GB card I use as my main memory card, and currently it only has around 100 MB free. I still went with the Vita version, but figured this knowledge might sway someone who was debating which to get to get the PS3 version. It was a bummer to find this out. Not really sure why they couldn't have just put it on another game card.

I didn't know it was digital only. That's kind of shitty considering the limited space on even a 32gb card. But thanks for the heads up.

I actually made a video of this in Uncharted's little editing feature. It is sitting on my PS3. I will try and upload it somewhere when I get the chance.

It's all good, Kay. Just post more info like that, and what you just now posted, when you see it. I usually skim headlines on games sites since the writing is either click bait or craptastic nowadays.

And to be honest, having "only" 32gb keeps my hoarder tendencies in check. I'm more disappointed about the hour and a half download time and lack of physical copy.

Those game cards can't be too expensive, so why couldn't they just put it on to two separate game cards? Cheap bastards. The game looks great from the little I played last night and this morning. I'm going to be tired and exhausted from all the games I play today. Today I treated myself like it was a little Christmas for myself, here's some of the things I bought...

MGSV: Ground Zeroes
FFX/X-2 for Vita
Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla coffee and some creamer
Saving Private Ryan on blu-ray

I think I might even buy myself the strategy guide later today. Today is a good day. Hell, I'm sure I'll probably get something free on the playstation store as well!

I think it'll be awesome for some games. My PC gaming friends and I have been pretty excited to try out the oculus rift in things like flight sims. I think it could also be pretty sweet for racing games with a cockpit view and for first person shooters with motion controls.

For everything else I don't really care, and I'm kind of annoyed by everyone making their own VR tech. One of these sets will have to work across various platforms to make it worthwhile to me

Seriously, though, I won't be impressed until I can look down at myself and look like the game character I'm supposed to be.
