Maybe I'll come up with a questionnaire of sorts. or like, you know, whatever

Favorite Episode(s): Gonna go by season
Spoiler:

Favorite Season(s) (failing that, what is your "Golden era" of the show?):
Favorite season's a tie between 5 and 8. Golden Era is 4-8

Favorite Family Member: Grandpa Simpson. Almost every joke he gives is so fucking brilliant. And those long winded stories that go nowhere

Favorite Side Character: Apu. Just the way he talks is so great. Honorable mentions go to Mr Burns, Moe, Principal Skinner, Lionel Hutz, and Troy McClure

Favorite Guest Star/One-time character: Guest star goes to Kelsey Grammar hands down. Sideshow Bob episodes are the best. One time character goes to Larry Burns, though Hank Scorpio is close.

Favorite Treehouse of Horror episode and segment: Best episode is VI. Best segment is Attack of the 50 Foot Eyesores

Favorite (other) Holiday episode: Grift of the Magi is pretty damn hilarious. Great cameo by Gary Coleman too

These ones are a bit more obscure. I doubt everyone will have an answer
Favorite quote and/or scene:

"Steamed hams" is my favorite scene. Favorite quote I need to put down a few for:
Spoiler:

Favorite B-plot: When Homer tries to lose weight by listening to tapes and instead gets one to increase his vocabulary

Favorite Reference and/or parody: The Itchy and Scratchy episode directed by Quentin Tarantino

Favorite Itchy & Scratchy: See above

Favorite Troy McClure Movie Title: Get Confident Stupid
Also this is incredible http://youmightremembermefrom.tumblr.com/page/5

Favorite Musical Moment: "We Put the Spring in Springfield"

Favorite Prank Call: Bart gets in trouble and calls Moe's asking for Homer Sexual.

Yeah, I wish they still did phone pranks, but the writers got tired of writing them. And I don't know how reintroducing them as a regular feature would go over after so long. Oh, well.

One of my other favorite early gags: Bart's, "Ow! Quit it." which would be followed by a family member continuing to touch whatever was hurting him and making him repeat the line.

And that reminded me of yet another old gag: The Simpson kids annoying Homer into getting their way by repeatedly asking for stuff.

I love whenever they'd keep asking Homer. My favorite gag is easily when Grandpa starts rambling about shit that never happened. I'd listen to a whole podcast series of nothing but that.

Favorite Episode(s): top 3 then one for the first nine seasons (I watched up to 14 or something but haven't rewatched recently)
#1: And Maggie Makes Three (not the funniest but it combines the series' heart with great laughs better than any other. So it's #1)
#2: Homer Badman/You Only Move Twice (tied for the funniest episodes imo)
by season:

Favorite Season(s) (failing that, what is your "Golden era" of the show?):
6, 8, 5 are top 3, in that order
Golden era is 4 - 8

Favorite Family Member:
Bart. I really like early Lisa, though... back when she still seemed like she belonged in the family somewhat

Favorite Side Character:
Lionel Hutz

Favorite Guest Star/One-time character:
Hank Scorpio

Favorite Treehouse of Horror episode and segment:
Episode: VI. Segment.: The Shinning

Favorite (other) Holiday episode:
Bart vs Thanksgiving.

These ones are a bit more obscure. I doubt everyone will have an answer
Favorite quote and/or scene:
Steamed hams is the best scene. There's an audio only version of that on youtube somewhere and it's still a riot

Quotes:
Favorite B-plot:
Homer's short-lived sugar business

Favorite Reference and/or parody:
The nod to final scene of The Birds when they pickup Maggie in A Streetcar Named Marge. Hated the movie, liked the scene, loved the parody
Favorite Itchy & Scratchy:
Probably the Oliver Stone one. I love it when they do something totally unexpected with these
Favorite Troy McClure Movie Title:
Alice's Adventure Through The Windshield Glass
Favorite Musical Moment:
See My Vest/Ammendment To Be

I'd put One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish above Lisa's Substitute for drama and Maggie Makes Three for mixing it with comedy. Homer finding out he has a day to live, listening to Lisa play her sax, and with Marge at the end are all incredible emotional scenes while the jokes are top notch. Barney especially is hilarious in this one.

I actually consider that to be the point where they got all the kinks sorted out and really figured out how to make this show perfect

Blowfish is another good one but I still prefer Lisa's Substitute. I already said this on Twitter but season 2 is my favorite for episodes like those.

For some reason the one emotional moment I really remember, not the whole episode, but just the moment is in Lisa's First Words when Homer says: "The sooner you talk up you talk back (sic.) I hope you never say a word..." and then she says "Daddy" after he leaves.

I had this on most of the weekend and watched some whenever I had a spare moment. Caught that first words episode, some treehouse of horrors, the monorail one, Stampy and a bunch more great ones.

I don't have as good a memory as greenie, but I will try my best

Favorite Episode(s):

In no particular order: Lemon of Troy, Who Shot Mr. Burns, Flaming Moe's, Homer the Great...many others I'm too tired to look up haha.

Favorite Season(s) (failing that, what is your "Golden era" of the show?):

Seasons 4-8 I'd say are the cream of the crop. I recently watched season 9 and you can definitely feel a dip in quality despite some solid episodes. That said, the one where it was truly the old style and the writers were completely on top of their game (in my opinion): Season 5. Almost every line is great.

Favorite Family Member:

Homer (pre "i'm always an idiot" modern homer) and Lisa (pre "I'm always right about everything" modern Lisa).

Favorite Side Character:

I have a big soft spot for Sideshow Bob.

Favorite Guest Star/One-time character:

Frank Grimes

Favorite Treehouse of Horror episode and segment:

I love the one where Bart switches heads with a fly. Just because the family just reacts to Bart's horrific fly head as they would normally. Makes me chuckle.

Favorite (other) Holiday episode:

The one where Bart burns down the Christmas Tree.

These ones are a bit more obscure. I doubt everyone will have an answer
Favorite quote and/or scene:

The Planet of the Apes musical. "OH MY GOSH! I WAS WRONG! IT WAS EARTH ALL ALONG!"

Favorite B-plot:

Favorite Reference and/or parody:

Too many to mention, some wonderful movie references. I like Barney's short film during the film festival though.

Favorite Itchy & Scratchy:

Favorite Troy McClure Movie Title:

Most of them...a simple yet always effective joke with me.

Favorite Musical Moment:[/quote]

As stated above...Planet of the Apes, but the Stonecutter's Song is a close second.

Also one of my favorite moments but isn't really a quote is when The Simpsons enter the witness relocation program (or whatever) to get away from Sideshow Bob and the agent says "Right, you'll now be known as Mr. Thompson. So when I say 'hello Mr. Thompson', you say 'hi'" "Got it" "Hello Mr. Thompson." (silence). It just goes on and on but it always makes me giggle. Especially the last bit "OK...when I say 'hello Mr. Thompson and press down on your foot you nod your head, OK?" "No problem" "HELLO MR. THOMPSON" (smashes down on foot...silence) "...I think he's talking to you."

In 1995, I guessed correctly that Maggie had shot Mr. Burns. I should have entered the contest they had but didn't for some reason.

My reasoning wasn't from following the clues in the episode or anything. My reasoning was simply that Maggie was the silliest possible choice for Burns' would-be assassin... so naturally, she'd be the writers' first choice. Smile
