Re: inFamous Series Discussion
Trophy hunting would sway you to do one or the other. When you get to certain levels of good or evil, you'll unlock new powers so that's another reason to stick to one as well.

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
Yeah I think the big thing is certain powers/upgrades get unlocked by going further in one direction or the other. I have never really experimented with doing a bit of each though. In the first game I picked one bad decision on my good run because I felt like it. I still made it to full Hero status but I'm not sure how doing equal amounts of both would play out.
Re: inFamous Series Discussion
To be clear there are different endings for good and evil. I don't know how different. 2's were wildly different. 1's less so. But you'd still have to arrive at one if you picked a little of both. I thought you were asking for the effects of doing a little of both which I figured could only bone you when it came to powers (and trophies I guess). If you are going to do two playthrough a then it might be worth going polar opposites.
There isn't an hour counter but I'd say 10-15 to do everything on my good run. Not exact I know but I really wasn't keeping track.

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
I think this one from a pure mechanics standpoint is a bit better. The powers are a bit cooler here and the controls are improved, but the first two probably have better mission designs and 2 has a more interesting varied city. They all have their pluses and minuses, but I'd certainly think if you are having a good time with this one, you'll have a good time with the others.
The climbing seems better in the other games, but the new ways you traverse in this game makes climbing a non-issue, so it ends up being a more fun here I think.
I wish they did a better job with side missions in SS in particular. They are just sort of copied and pasted all over the map. Not much variety and not particularly interesting. I liked the rooftop race type ones in the other games. It would have been cool if they did side missions like those that required certain powers to be used in this one. The repetitive side mission issue is one that plagues a lot of open-world games though. Still wish it was better here though.

Just beat it. Pretty good. Like Trip said, 1 had better missions and 2 had a better city, but I think I like this one the most because the powers are more fun/varied and control so much more fluidly. I didn't like how you had to slow down the pace so much to use any of the really good powers. Can't compare to Saints Row 4 though, that game had a much more addicting sandbox and more fun missions despite the much lower polish.

I don't know about 2 having a better city, but maybe my love for SS city is the fact that it is Seattle. It has been years though since I've played 2, so maybe I'm just forgetting things about it.

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
Too much of (this game's) Seattle seems to blend together to me. Sure the two islands feel different, but it doesn't feel as varied as New Marais which had swamps, the flooded sections, slums, industrial sections and downtown. Which in turn helps make encounters and missions feel more varied. That is my take at least.
Edit: I was wondering how SR4 compared to this. I might have to give it a rent.

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
Yeah, I pretty much agree with Trip entirely on the cities. Also Trip I think you'd enjoy SR4, they really downplay 3's toilet humor in favor of a bunch of wacky pop culture and video game references. And the sandbox collectables are just like this

You don't actually have to catch him, when he morphs from section to section, when he's in physical form just shoot him a couple times with the regular smoke blast.

You can pray all you want, won't change a thing. I know God and he doesn't give two shits about Spiddy.

Accidentally killing a civilian doesn't effect your karma much, I was just offering a way to kill the secret agent that was easy and didn't harm a civilian. One mission I did chase the bastard for like a mile before finally being able to land a shot on him. What a cock.

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
Does anyone know if there is going to be any DLC for this game? I'm almost done getting 100% of all the collectibles on my Hero run. Then I'll play Evil on Expert to get the plat, but after that... there isn't much of a reason to hang on to this game. I'd like to trade it in, but I feel like this game has a lot of potential for some cool DLC missions. That Paper Trail thing seems like it could lead to earning an eventual paper power. But by the time they get to putting all those missions out, I'll be done with the game either way. I'd actually welcome another inFamous game. But I'd hope the next one has more content in it. I really enjoyed Second Son. It just felt too brief.

I read this a little bit back:

Not sure if that'd be standalone like FoB was.
Already, the studio's preparing a significant DLC drop for the PS4 game - "You should think of it in the same kind of scope as our old Festival of Blood," says Fox

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
I really enjoyed Festival of Blood. I thought the vampire powers were neat. If they do the Paper Trail thing as little missions while they are working on DLC, then add another lengthy DLC pack with another new power, I'd be happy.

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
Today I cleared every district of DUP presence. Also did all of the little side missions, just missing one shard that I can't get until I clear something story related I believe because there's a building that's all electrocuted I can't climb up.

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
Yeah, I just got the 100% clear trophy this morning. I started up an evil run... did the first karma choice and turned it off... gonna take a little break before I really dive in. I'm playing evil on expert. I'm hoping I'll just be able to blast through the main campaign quickly and avoid most enemies along the way. Kind of just want to get the platinum and move on to other things!

I think I'm gonna finish up all the side stuff on my good run then trade it in to preorder Kirby. I don't really feel like doing an evil run yet and I know it'll be free/dirt cheap in the future

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
I did the fast platinum with inFamous 2 and that second run really took the fun out of the game for me. This time I'm going to wait a good 3 to 4 months before doing Evil.
The main reason I'm clearing all districts is because I hate being stopped by random pussy enemies. So like Matt, when I do Evil I hope I can get through without minimal fuss.

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
I ended up getting the platinum last night. Expert wasn't too tough especially when you already know how to do certain missions.
My favorite power set was Neon during the hero run. The infinite dash is so cool and I liked the slow motion sniping power. What about you guys? Also I'm not sure if mentioning the later powers is a spoiler? Do people care if we talk about them? I know they only showed Smoke and Neon before release.

Re: inFamous Series Discussion
I didn't know they showed Neon, that was a surprise to me. If you could a spoiler tag on the last power that'd be nice, haven't got to that part yet.
