Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is coming out this week. Anyone else getting this? Figured I'd make a thread to discuss it.

I'll get it, but probably not right away unless PSN or XBLA has a sale. Looks really great though.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Discussion Empty Re: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Discussion

I played a couple of hours. I mean at its heart it definitely feels like Far Cry 3 gameplay with a new coat of paint. Which is fine, but there are some little changes that kind of add up and make it feel quite different in the end. You're still doing the same kind of missions, but the slightly different weapons, the giant dinosaur-like Blood Dragons shooting lasers out of their eyes at you (!!!), the faster character speed and some other neat touches make it feel different enough. And really more of Far Cry 3 with a new look, different map and hilarious story is pretty great. Seems like there is quite a bit to do too. Like 13 outposts. A bunch of side missions and collectibles though it seems only like 7 or so story missions maybe. Still kind of like in Far Cry 3, you'll always be off doing other shit, so you'll get a good amount of play value out of it I'd guess for $15.

I'm not very good at it, but it's fun. I watched my friend play a bit yesterday so now I actually know how to play it. The story/writing are pretty stupid so far, which is great, but they aren't ridiculous 100% of the time so it doesn't get annoying

I plan on buying this really soon. The only reason I haven't yet is I'd like to at least complete one of the games I'm still playing right now first. Maybe. It's really hard for me to pass up a game with laser shooting dinosaurs.

Beat this today. The final mission and all of the cutscenes in it were so ridiculous. I couldn't stop laughing

I also finished this tonight. The end was hilarious. I really enjoyed it overall. I may be in the minority here, but I preferred the look of Far Cry 3 to this one. It just felt too dark. For all the neon, the game was just dark all the time still. I liked the more vibrant look of FC3 and its day night cycle. I did like some of the gameplay tweaks here though and it was really fun.

I didn't get the headshot every enemy type trophy... wonder which I missed. I tried to headshot any new enemy I saw. I guess I didn't pull it off though. Also need to kill a few more dragons for that trophy. Otherwise I finished the rest of the stuff.
