Community (TV Show) Discussion
Figured we could use some more threads in here. I've been enjoying this season more than I expected. What has been your favorite episode thus far this season?
Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
The one about Pierce's will was my favorite episode so far. There were plenty of laughs, and it was a good way to say goodbye to the character.
The most recent episode felt a little season 4-ish to me, but it was still much better than most of that season. I'm hoping it's a sign that we'll see lots of Mike (or whatever his name is) and Duncan

My favorite was The Floor is Lava one. Tough losing Troy, but like you said I really Jonathan Banks' character should help soften the blow. He is great.
Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
I'm not sure, I can't decide between Floor is Lava or Pierce's will. But my favorite moment is definitely Abed going insane and turning into Nicolas Cage.

I think I know how Trip feels about this show's themed episodes now. Tonight's was lame. They bet all they had on the concept. Plot and jokes were an afterthought.

Yeah I didn't care for this episode either. To be clear I like a lot of the themed episodes, some just fall flat for me like this one.
Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
I think the jokes weren't really there, but the premise worked for me. I just like dystopian stuff too much for something like that to not work. I wish there was more of Abed hating being a 5 though, that had so much more potential than what they focused on.

I was still laughing at this after the episode ended

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
That was great, but the episode felt pretty meh. The VCR game just didn't do anything for me and the textbook plot wasn't as funny as it could have been. Between these last two weeks, it kind of feels like they realize Shirley is the boring one and they're trying to change that, but can't figure out a good way to do it. And we're getting Community's equivalent of Lisa episodes from The Simpsons instead.
At least next week's looks like Community at its finest.

I didn't hate this week's episode. The Dean's rap was hysterical. I thought the VCR game was a waste of a Vince Gilligan cameo. The whole textbook thing was just ok. It just felt kind of all over the place... but I did laugh quite a bit.

The Dean was certainly the best part. Otherwise kind of blah for me.

So what does everyone else think of the cancellation?

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
Its a bummer, because I really did love the show... but honestly it was probably time for it to end. Plus now we know they all died in an apocalypse... because, you know, its cannon. There really wasn't much of a story to tell besides Annie and Jeff getting together. I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did, because it had no business going 5 seasons.

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
To be honest, the middle of the latest season was nearing season 4 quality at times for me. Apart from the Dean's rap those 4 or 5 episodes combined made me laugh only a few times. I'm just glad it came back to end the series on a high note after losing so many key characters and staff members

I'm okay with this too. We got more than we could possibly expect from this show and I think Rick and Morty will be a better fit for Dan Harmon. Hope this means we get more episodes next season.

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
I am fine with it. 97 episodes is a lot for a low-rated show. I also thought after Troy left the show wasn't quite as good. I'm not sure it was necessarily because he wasn't around, but I felt the season declined after he left. I know I am critical of the show sometimes, but I did like it quite a bit.
I honestly did think they'd bring it back for one more season since they've had a tough time with comedies lately. One last season for it and Parks while they hope to actually get some new comedies to stick. I am hoping Marry Me and Tooken (or whatever it is called now) work out. I like the talent involved there.

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
Anyone watch the new episodes? I thought the first one was pretty meh. The second was better. I really liked the Britta storyline (the Tinder joke was great). Both episodes' tags were excellent though.
Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
First one was alright. Had some pretty funny gags and one liners, but also felt like they were too unfocused. Second was great. Dean Pelton in virtual reality had me dying.

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
I just finished watching the first two episodes. They're both kind of all over the place... but its still Community. I loved Dean in VR. There's just something about this show that puts a smile on my face... even when its not as good as it used to be or when its really not that funny. So I'll always be excited to watch.
One thing I don't like, which has nothing to do with the show is Yahoo Screen. The hashtag popups are really lame. I kind of wish Netflix would have picked it up instead. I do appreciate the one episode a week approach. Gives me more time to absorb it all. I binge watched Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and I didn't really get a chance to reflect on any of it. I loved it, but it was all kind of a blur.

Haha, I would have thought that was more funny... but Yahoo Screen was popping that hashtag up 5 minutes before he ever said that. I think its safe to say that Dan Harmon will not be getting any of the new VR headsets that are coming out!

Yeah, I turned on Adblock after the first episode got annoying with that then let it replay on mute with the ads. I'm all for supporting them, but let me watch in peace first.

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
As much fun as it can be to just binge a show, I much prefer to watch a show weekly. Like you said Matt it is easier to take it in. I have to week to think on it plus I get to talk about it with others.
Did you guys watch on 360? I hear there is an app on 360. I watched it on my computer and agree that my experience with Yahoo Screen was sup par.

I watched on my PC. My parents basically have control over my 360 for Netflix nowadays.

I watched it on my Macbook. I don't have my 360 plugged in anymore. Maybe I should dig it out, because I would much rather watch it on a TV.

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
I watched the third episode. My least favorite of the season so far. I did like the stuff with the Dean texting Japanese Jeff.
Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
That Dean Pelton plot this week really did not work. The bird one was fun, but the rest of the episode was meh. Though Annie Kim's cameo was pretty funny. Last week's I enjoyed quite a bit though. The Britta and Chang stuff didn't really work, but everything else was fun. Dean and Japanese Jeff was especially great.

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
I liked Chang's storyline because he wasn't just insane for once but it wasn't all that funny. The dean was the worst this week. The only thing I liked there was his little silent conversation with Jeff. Pretty disappointing week for community.

Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
While the Dean storyline was pretty bad this week, the Gay Dean song did make me laugh for some reason.
Re: Community (TV Show) Discussion
I was actually ready to turn it off if that played again... felt like something that'd be in a new Simpsons episode. But I'm annoyed by most stuff like that in general
