Brainstorming/Queue for Top Five Topics

I've been dropping the ball on these Top Fives, but I figured I'd make a thread for coming up with ideas just for it. Then I'll keep a list here in the thread and each week whoever's topic comes up can post it. I'll try and add some ideas of my own as well of course even if I'm drawing a blank at the moment. So if anyone has some good ideas throw them out there. Even if there is an old one you want to bring back and do again (opinions change, the group is a little different than the old one) that'd be a good suggestion too.

Maybe narratives/stories. Sidekicks maybe? We could always go back to the say Best DS games or something like that.

There hasn't been a discussion on game music, such as top five songs or scores or composers.

Yeah, I'm sure we've done some music topics before but it's been so long I can't remember what everyone said.

Top 5 voice actors in gaming, top five hardest games you ever played, or top 5 unscripted events in gaming. If any of mine get's picked, I'll start up the thread.

How about Top-5 sports games?

Top 5 Zelda-style action adventures that weren't Zelda games?

Top 5 sports or hardest is my vote. Difficulty is universal but sports can be anything from DOA Volleyball to Tony Hawk to that launch ping pong game that was on whatever the hell it was. Xbox? Anyways, I like those two.

I think if ngamer is willing to manage the thread, difficulty sounds fun. Even if it's cheap or obscene difficulty. Paramaeters would need to be set. Shao Khan is cheap when played with skill but cake when cheesed.

*edit* Trip has been wanting to do sidekicks since 1up. So I think difficulty and sidekicks should be in the queue. I think both are good top 5 topics. Sound off, dudeaboos, and lets get the weekly going again!

I do like the music one. I say that one goes first. Do top five soundtracks (individual games not series) and songs if you'd like. I think a fun bonus question in that thread would be Licensed songs you discovered through games via the actual games or trailers. We did do this but two years ago on 1up before avid or spiddy or Twolf were involved in the club I believe (maybe some others too). If you don't want to make the thread avid I will.

Hardest games I like a lot. I think I will just pick a bunch of broken NES games though. I don't really care about doing the sidekicks too much. I was just kind of throwing some stuff out there.

I'll do the hardest games one after we do the song one.

Top 5 arcade/pinball?

I was reading over on PA a discussion about what games they would put in an arcade room. I dream about it often and am always looking them up on ebay and such.

I'm looking forward to the top five soundtracks, so someone should hurry up and start that thread :0

We need a new top 5. How about...Top 5 Sound Effects. So not music, or atmosphere. but a sword sound, or a menu beep or something that you liked muchly.

If you can't tell, I love going for weird and obscure top 5's.

Bret actually pitched one to me and he will be putting it up this week. Something like "Games you replay every year" or would like to or something like that. Could be neat.

Horror certainly seems like a great one for October. Maybe a whole horror themed month. Maybe scariest enemies? Horror games? Scariest moments?

Games you replay annually sounds fun.

Being halloween, we should do a top 5 favorite horror games. Top 5 Annuals should be saved for a month that isn't as awesome as October. I did like the Top 5 Annuals, but horror is so much more appropriate for this month.

Speaking of October, I'm gonna be eating some pumpkin pie ice cream here in a second, because October is the best month ever.

Do annually now and we can still do the horror ones in October (I'll start them up in a week or so from now). Maybe get this back to a weekly thing.
