Re: Now Playing
Tried Nintendo Land's multiplayer yesterday. One of the best party games I've played in a long time, the Luigi's Mansion minigame is especially great. Recommend anyone with a Wii U picks that up if they're having a few people over to game.

Re: Now Playing
I played through the first Act of Gears of War 3 which is all I finished the first time around. Having a good time. I think the cover system has aged a little badly. Little things like not being able to hop right over cover or certain rails is kind of lame and the all one button system isn't ideal, but the shooting is great and its just a fun time.
Re: Now Playing
pspiddy, I play every new FIFA game for the PS3. They have RPG elements in a way. When you play Career Mode, the more you use certain players and the better they perform the better they get over time. One of my favorite things to do with the game is take one of the crappiest team and make my own players (as in friends and myself), and make us really crappy, and watch us grow into superstars. It's great. I'm in my 4th season, and my players have all grown to be really great. It's all about how often you play them. There's other modes as well, where you can create a virtual pro, and how often you pass will increase his passing, and the same is for shooting, defending, dribbling, etc... I'm assuming it's something you can find in most sports game.
Also, Ratchet: Up Your Arsenal is like a platforming RPG. It's great.

Re: Now Playing
I'm playing the original Far Cry. It's a lot easier than I remember it, but still pretty tough. Despite the amazingly terrible voice acting and the general lack of polish, it's held up ok thanks to the open level design. I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone who started with 3, though

Re: Now Playing
Got the Bioshock Infinite DLC cause Greenman was nice enough to loan me some MSP for the season pass. I like it though it doesnt expand on the story much. It's basically a separate arena battle type mode. Which is cool if you really enjoy its gameplay I do. The main focus however is really to get money to unlock concept art, music, and models in the museum. It's a nice diversion from the main game, and its fun, but i do hope the next DLCs are story oriented

Mostly playing 3DS at the moment. Trying to beat Tales of the Abyss. Also try to make time to play Rogue Legacy everyday. Such a fun little game.

That looks A LOT better. With the way the story is set up they have many different ways the they could take the DLC. Interested to see how it ties into the main game.
The first one wasnt really what i was expecting, but it does have a lot of content and unlockables (theres 5 stages with 15 waves each). I can see my self unlocking all the stuff in it but i dont see myself getting all the achievements in it. Some of those blue ribbon challenges (defeat a handyman attacking only from skylines) are just fucking ugh. That said though since the first one is really big im expecting the others to be too.
Re: Now Playing
Bioshock's DLC is a huge disappointment for me. It's just a mode that's included in thousands of games at no extra cost. bleh. The gameplay was a bit above average for me anyway (and this was playing on a PC, which makes shooters a thousand times more fun IMO.)
Burial at Sea looks a lot better but I don't think they can tell us much more about Rapture without it feeling forced into the universe

Re: Now Playing
@ajapam I'm the opposite, I hate playing games on a PC. I'm an amazing typer, but when it comes to gaming with a keyboard I just suck. I'm assuming you use the mouse for shooters, but I still think I'd prefer the controller method.

Re: Now Playing
Yeah, I use the mouse for shooters. For everything else I use a controller unless the interface isn't suited for it. Once I play an FPS with a mouse it's hard to go back. The best part about Infinite's gameplay was that I could get headshot after headshot with the carbine and it would make that cool sound

Re: Now Playing
Burial at Sea is going to take place before the fall of Rapture so personally I'm excited to see that. Not to mention Elizabeth will be playable and her gameplay was described as almost survival horror. I'm expecting something awesome.

I didn't have the season pass before but I figured this all looked worth it. Now I should really finish the first Bioshock though haha.

Re: Now Playing
I feel like I kind of have to play Burial of Sea, but I'm certainly not buying it.
Hooked on a game called Starseed Pilgrim lately. It's really odd but really enjoyable, kinda relaxing too. Well worth checking out. And of course, still playing this fucking game - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcK0b99t39w

pspiddy wrote:NFS Vita feels like an endless runner without the endless part. There really aren't any consequences and the driving is left, right, brake, gas. Not sure why this game is hyped. It's like Wipeout without the cool stuff. Of course I'm 10 minutes into it, but still no idea why this is a darling. Maybe the PS3 version will set me straight. /shrug
That's basically the same feeling I got with the Ps3 version. The controls are great but it really does feel like there are no consequences unless you crash a ton of times. I miss the days when Burnout games were, you know, Burnout. And preferably not open world

Re: Now Playing
Finished Far Cry 3's campaign minutes ago. Pretty solid end although there were a few points that I kept dying in (there's a knife fight dependent on QTEs that drove me nuts) but the last chase sequence was great. Feels pretty good to finally put a cap on this sucker. Not sure if I'll go back and find all of the loot and relics.

Re: Now Playing
Started playing Dota2. Did most of the training and got a bunch of matches vs. bots with Killa, Greenman and AJ. We were only good enough to take out 2 Passive and 2 Easy bots, so we have a long way to go. It's free to play, so anyone who would want to join us should download it on Steam and join us! It's a lot of fun! I'm already addicted.

Re: Now Playing
Ohboy. I'd like to watch you guys play a match one day, there's so many little things you don't know as a new player that are SO important and can change the entire match. If you're serious about getting good at it then I very much recommend watching DOTA Cinema and Purge's videos on Youtube, they're extremely helpful despite how much time they take up.
Re: Now Playing
Yea DOTA2 is pretty intimidating. Im still in the process of figuring out which characters I like. I know that I will most likely stick with ranged because I seemed to die quite often using melee. I think I will watch some videos and try to get a better feel for what I should be doing because sometimes I just feel lost.
Re: Now Playing
I usually stick with ranged too. Windrunner, Death Prophet, and Lich are my personal favourites. Oh, Broodmother too, but she's really easy to counter so I don't play her so much now. I've only just started branching out onto the rest of the cast, it's a tad scary.
Put enough hours in though and you too will soon be upset every time you run into a Russian, cry when the dude your laning with won't stop autoattacking creeps/doesn't stackpull the creep wave/steals all the last hits despite the fact they're a support that didn't even buy courier and wards while you're a carry who needs farm/doesn't even deny creeps, sigh when you see bad item builds like people with multiple sets of boots.
But, on the plus side, you gain the ability to lose your shit when you see NEXT LEVEL PLAYS like this

Some of the people I play DOTA with are going to London next weekend because there's a pub which is showing the finals of the DOTA Internationals . Really wanna go, need money money.

Re: Now Playing
I finished Gears of War 3 which was very good. I also got back to Halo 4 last night. So should be able to knock that off the backlog in the next couple of weeks as well.
Re: Now Playing
I prefer 2's campaign with Gears, but 3 was still really good there. Best part of that game was Horde mode though, so much fun when we actually got 5 players.

Re: Now Playing
Found the PS2 MK collection at Walmart for $10. Started replaying Konquest in Deception. Can tell its a bit dated, and the fighting is still unbalanced as hell. Weapon stances are broken as fuck, but for ten dollars I'm not gonna bitch its worth that especially with dumb modes like Chess and Puzzle Kombat always regretted selling it cause i loved the shit out of those. Didnt really like Armageddon much (though i played the wii version maybe the PS2 one is better), and havent played Shaolin Monks heard varying opinions on that some people love it others hate it might try it out tommorow
