A little simpler this week. What are your top five favorite TV comedies all-time?
Bonus Question: Which drama do you find the funniest?

Re: TV Top Five | Favorite Comedies
Well people can make separate lists for live-action and animated if they want.
Re: TV Top Five | Favorite Comedies
1. Â Seinfeld - Best comedy ever. Â Ever. Â
2. Â Curb Your Enthusiasm - It's like Seinfeld with swear words.
3. Â Entourage - Not a straight up comedy, but more of a comedy than a drama in my eyes. Â I like Entourage more than Curb, but Curb is more of a comedy. Â If you get what I'm saying.
4. Â Golden Girls - Loved it as a kid, still love it as an adult!
5. Â King of Queens - I never watched it when it was on, but I love watching the reruns. Â I'm sure there are more shows that I think are funnier, but oh well, this is my list for now.
Bonus Question
Toss up between two, and that would be Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Sopranos. Â I'd actually pick these two and three if it wasn't for the genre choice. Â

Re: TV Top Five | Favorite Comedies
King of Queens is really great. I'm not a big fan of many of the traditional sitcoms in more recent years, but that one is a winner. Won't make my top five, but I liked it a lot.
Re: TV Top Five | Favorite Comedies
I think every character in KoQ is pretty funny. From Carrie to Arthur to Spence, they're all great.

Re: TV Top Five | Favorite Comedies
1. The Simpsons- Like Spiddy said, nothing else can take this spot. (Favorite Episode: Cape Fear)
2. South Park- Most shows draw a line somewhere. This one doesn't and it is so much funnier for it. Every Butters and Randy centric episode is the best television you can find. (Favorite Episode: Return to the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers)
3. Community- The most hit or miss show on here, but when they do something right it is so damn incredible (Favorite Episode: Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design)
4. Futurama- Great characters and some of the best writing I've ever seen. (Favorite Episode: Jurassic Bark)
5. Seinfeld- Just really funny writing and situations. Also Bret, you should check out Modern Seinfeld on Twitter. Think you'd like it. (Favorite Episode- Whichever one had this)
As for funniest drama, I'm going to go with Avatar: The Last Airbender. Think Trip especially would like this bit

1. Seinfeld
2. The Simpsons (Seasons 2-9 or so)
3. South Park
4. Arrested Development
5. Home Movies - don't know why...just found that show hilarious. At least til I think of something better.
As for drama that is funny...I'd say The Sopranos. Had some moments of dark comedy gold.

1. Seinfeld
2. Cheers
3. South Park
4. Red Dwarf
5. MST3K
Bonus: Justified. There's the constant stream of one-liners, the double-takes (most of them from Wynn Duffy), the moments of violence played for laughs...take your pick.

I think that episode from Seinfeld is called The Boyfriend. My favorite Seinfeld episodes are probably the one with Festivus and the one where George tries to airbrush himself out of Kruger's picture. Any strong George storyline gets my vote of approval. I've heard about that Twitter page before, I should look it up since I hate Twitter and it would be my only ray of light when there.

Re: TV Top Five | Favorite Comedies
Part of the reason I wanted to do this is so maybe we could do some thread discussions for some of these. Like the questionaires I used to do to kick us off then just keep discussing whatever. Though I will chime in and say that "The Switch" (about the roommate switch) is probably my favorite Seinfeld episode.
Anyway, my list:
1. Scrubs
2. Sports Night
3. Frasier
4. Seinfeld
5. 30 Rock
I'm not real sure on that order now that I look at it, but I never really am with these top fives. Scrubs is definitely first. Really not sure about 2-4. Could switch them a bit maybe.
As for drama, The O.C. of course! It still makes me laugh more than most comedies I watch today.

The Switch, is that when Jerry and Kramer swap because of Kenny Rogers' Roaster? I like that one a lot too if that's it. I love how Jerry starts acting like Kramer and how he is scared of Mr. Marbles.

Re: TV Top Five | Favorite Comedies
No I meant the one where Jerry wants to date his girlfriend's roommate, so him and George try and figure out a plan for him to make the switch. It involves a threesome proposal. Jerry has this classic bit about how he's not an orgy guy, "I'd need thick carpets and weirdo lighting" and so on. I just love that storyline for some reason.
Re: TV Top Five | Favorite Comedies
My favorite bit from that episode is when George comes up with the plan and yells, "I'VE GOT IT!"

Haha... yeah I love that part too. They had just sort of given up. Were kind of dejected and back comes in George.

1. The Simpsons
2. The IT Crowd (seriously, check it out on Netflix)
3. 3rd Rock From the Sun. Used to watch it as a kid and then re-discovered it a couple summers ago, so good.
4. Futurama. This is the next show I want to watch from start to finish
5. The Red Green Show. Canadian classic. "Keep your stick on the ice." "If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."
And ya Avatar is amazing. Unfortunately another show I've never watched from start to finish but someday. <3 you Netflix

OKay, now I am following you on the episode. I like the montage of them thinking of a way to get this switch to happen. The music that is playing with the antics on screen is awesome. George and Jerry, always scheming.

Canadian Netflix is actually pretty different than the US as far as what they have available.

weird, I've never heard of Canadian Netflix having something American didn't. It's ridiculous sometimes. You guys have more Trailer Park Boys than we do!
