Re: Favorite Foods and Drinks

Good root beer is freaking amazing. I used to drink Barq's all the time but it's not the same anymore. Dad's brand is my favourite. Or A&W root beer out of the tap.

For that alcoholic type, I've been drinking Okanagan Spring. It's a smaller company up here in British Columbia. I'll usually have a Budweiser if I can't find any of them.

My friend bought me some Bud Lite for my birthday once. I couldn't even drink one to be polite.

I thought it was just common sense that you don't involve Bud Light in anything.

There's about 10 billion (approximately) microbreweries in boulder so I've got a good choice of local beers. But I like Fat Tire, Blue Moon for lighter stuff, Avery Brown Ale or some good oatmeal stout for the darker stuff. Over here I tend to avoid beer because it's all light, watery crap.

Getting drunk by yourself just sounds sad...

Anyway, count me as another one who only likes root beer. Not a fan of beer at all.

Supposedly it's national cheeseburger day today...so I might have to pony up some money and go to one of the good burger joints around here. Not that I need too much prodding to go eat a burger.

Every day except Thanksgiving, Cinco de Mayo, and St Patrick's Day is National Burger Day to me.

I did most of my drinking at parties back in high school. Needless to say they usually ended up with me making terrible decisions. Still have regrets over that shit.

I kind of miss it, but theres really NO ONE who lives close by who I'd trust enough to go drinking with cause uhm reasons >_>

If you guys could only have one category of snack food for the rest of your lives (so chips - any flavor, popcorn - any flavor etc) what would you choose?

Why? Cuz I'm bored.

Probably some sort of spicy chip. I always seem to get most excited for spicy flavored chips.

Probably Sun Chips. I dunno what flavour. All sun chips are good.

Or one of those really crunchy chip brands. I love those things but they never seem to catch on like the others

Japanese mayo...french fries...delicious, heart clocking goodness.

Edit: I'm leaving that typo up there...I feel there's some truth to it.

Kettle chips. As far as flavors go, I seem to prefer sea salt & cracked pepper these days.

Ok ok, let's make it interesting. You can choose one sweet snack and one savory snack. Go.

For the pizza lovers, I thought I'd share a nice easy way to make a cheap lunch/dinner in the spirit of pizza.

You buy a loaf of french or italian bread.  Wal-Mart has this for $1.50 fresh from the bakery.  Buy whatever toppings you like (pepperonis better be apart of this).  The sauce I use is Dei Fratellis (spelling is probably a little wrong but also any sauce will do, this is my favorite of the canned sauces I've come across) pizza sauce, Wal-Mart sells this for $1.39.  Shredded mozzarella cheese, roughly $2.  Slice the bread in toast form, or in sub form, and then lay on some sauce, cheese, and then toppings.  Bake in the oven on 375 degrees for roughly 10 minutes and you'll have a quick and cheap tasty pizza.  Depending on toppings, you can get everything for around $6.

I think this was actually Italian instead of French, but you get the idea.

I've done that without the marinara and toppings for a delicious garlic bread. You can get a lot of food out of that $1.50 bread.

Can't believe it was over a year since we last said something on here. Food is one of the few things in life that might be better than video games. I slowly become friends on Facebook with people from here so you may see repeat topics from me. But I posted this on Facebook...

I've always ate my hot dogs with just ketchup. Leftovers from a Halloween party I decided to try something else and change it up. First time ever I used ketchup, mustard, and relish. I enjoyed it very much. so much that I think I'll eat them like that from now on.

Speaking of hot dogs, here in Michigan we have a brand that I believe you can only get here, Koegel. They do hot dogs, bologna, lunch meats, etc... They're my favorite, but whenever someone that lives here moves to other states and others try them they usually think they're the best hot dogs. So if you ever see them, try them and let me know what you think. Great for coney dogs.

I used to eat hot dogs with just ketchup all the time but now that's the only condiment I ever skip. Masks the other flavours too much, I think. I try to have one with and one without

I made myself some homemade burgers. Stuffed with feta cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato, roasted red pepper, and tzatziki on a toasted bun. Delicious

That does sound good Aja. Once had a burger like that, but it also had lamb gyros on top as well. And pickled onions. God I love pickled onions.

I can't stand ketchup personally, but it really seems disgusting on a hot dog. I normally take spicy mustard on mine, but chili is the real way to do a hot dog in my book.
