Re: Favorite Foods and Drinks

There are a lot of Mexican places in OK. Not being a fan of the stuff I can't comment much on authenticity. There is a somewhat popular local chain called Chelino's that was started by a Mexican immigrant family so maybe that's authentic? Otherwise I suspect a lot of their food is more Tex-Mex than anything.

I'm picturing taco meat in waffle cones and it sounds disgusting.

There's lots of Mexican restaurants around me, but I can't say for certain how authentic they are. I agree with Krub, seems like a high % of people here just don't like Mexican food which is mind blowing.

Most stuff here is italian or chinese. We do have other stuff and I'd be surprised if there wasn't a mexican restaurant that's at least somewhat authentic around here, but I've never heard of it.

I found a local poutinerie here and had the special which was with bratwurst, sauerkraut, and pretzels. It was basically just two meals thrown together. Good stuff, though. Tasted way better than it sounds

Probably asked this before, but do you guys like really spicy food? My dad eats stuff so hot, his face is like dripping with sweat and I never got the appeal. My brother and mom like it too. I guess I missed this gene.

I love spicy food, but growing up on authentic Mexican played a huge role. The only two times I don't go for the spiciest option available are with Thai or Indian. There's wanting some extra kick then there's just being stupid.

I like spicy food but like greenie said there's tasting the spice and having a little kick and then there's just spice for the sake of it that adds nothing to the taste.

I really like indian curry type spicy when it's done well. Mmmmm. Korean food is also very hot and tasty.

Recent food experience:

I was in Atlanta for the week and there's these three brothers from Texas who did Texas style BBQ...holy crap. That was GOOD stuff. They had these jalepenos...stuffed with brisket...surrounded by cream cheese and deep fried.

My aunt makes jalapeño poppers that are really good. Doesn't fry them but fills them with a cream cheese/sausage filling, so good

I like ordinary foods with spice added to them. I add red pepper to my pizzas, and I like pepper in other foods.

I had some Peanut Butter Cup Pancakes the other day that were pretty awesome. They had chocolate chips (including white ones) in the pancakes and some peanut butter sauce on top.

Also the new delivery pizza place I go to might have the best strombolis I have ever had. Just a matter of time before things go south. I never seem to stick with a pizza place for too long.

Angel Stadium has a hot dog topped with chili, brisket, and mac and cheese. Be jealous

Trip, when I make pancakes I always put on peanut butter and jelly and a little syrup. It's my favorite way to eat pancakes. If you liked that above maybe you'd like it that way as well.

That does sound good. I still eat PB&J sandwiches often.
